  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

3 weeks...

My bet is that after our November 3rd announcement... we will never, ever, be out of back-order. Ever. Really. Never... ever.

Hmm well...not sure how to take that. Having more demand than you can meet is certainly good for you guys... but waiting for EPIC stuff on back order isn't a lot of fun. Not trying to be a pooper here... just wish some basic machined stuff like the assault plate could get out the door so we could build our rigs.

I'm excited about announcement though! Just like everyone else :)

Eh...I think I'm the only one reading this correctly...

Would love to have the Nov 3rd reveal as a Scarlet live stream announcement by Ted broadcast in 3D!

That would be memorable...

The last REALLY important "announcement" from the RED crew got me to fly down to NAB 2011 just to be there as it was happening! This time I'll be watching the clock tick on my computer until the big moment. I'm sure there are many of us practically holding our breath until Nov 03. Even though Canon will be announcing their thing the same day, which I'm sure will be interesting, it still will not be what captivates my attention. I'm signing up to join the REDvolution and never going to look back!

Some of the replies suggest happiness as in "No more back-orders! Yippee!"

Yet to me it reads: "We're gonna have so much great shit that it's gonna be next to impossible to keep up with demand..."

So here's my Question:

Can I just show up to Irvine or LA and hang out?

I'll Bring Donuts!

Maybe I'll just do it anyway, bring my laptop, donuts and just chill and annoy people! LOL!

Invest only in a system that grows over time. Everything changes. Make sure your system does too...

With all the wonderful tech specs of a RED camera aside, it really was the modular idea that convinced me on the spot that this was a system I could live, grow and be very content with. Not enough kudos are given out to the architecture design people so cheers to them!

Maybe you could outsource some Scarlet production capacity to Sony as their
Pro Video factory might be sitting idle from that date forward...

WOW that's an amazing and very bold statement Jim.

EDIT: I read this the first time, having just got up here in the UK and really thought this read, that RED would never be IN back order. Now I've re-read Jim's message (after a few coffee's) that RED will never ever been OUT of back-order- this is great news as demand should be fantastic, but also sucks as it will be harder to get stuff. Hope we can still order Stage 4 EPIC-X before the end of the year and price increases applied.

Why do I now think this announcement is going beyond just Scarlet?!?!?!?!?

Bring it on.

:-)
