Dear Red,

Genius marketing. You just put a HOLE in my wallet....

A 4 pack of 256GB cards equates to $2,500 per card... That's $700 more than your 128GB cards and you're now getting DOUBLE the space...

I see what you did there...

BOLD move Rick, I guess if I had my Epic now I would do the same. Your right bigger is better in this case. Im kind of hoping that when my Epic shows up on my door step by then there might be a little bigger and maybe faster SSD's by then.
Let me know how much you actually get as far as time on those at what rez'es.

Lucky....

LOL.. I haven't ordered yet.. Just debating now since I was planning on getting 4 X 128GB cards for $7200.. But for $2,750 more, I can double my capacity..

Run times should be 50 minutes of footage per 256GB card shooting at 5k 2:1 at 5:1 compression..

Thanks. I have been thinking of getting everything I may need for my Epic now so when it arrives Im not hoping for the the back orders to clear just to do simple jobs. I just put money down on the new canon mount so to have that when the machine arrives.
Kind of like getting the room ready for when the baby arrives.

if Red could discount 4x128Gb at $6000 it would be a nice option too. Even if it sure is a good deal, something in my brain tells me that $10,000 for 1 Tb medias is a bit too much.
Mixed Media deals could be usefull too. Like 3x128 + 1x256, 2x64+ 2x128 + 2x256.... I don't know, it would be perfect for me, so I guess there are others.

I prefer the 250-pack...

Yep, I'm with Paolo's idea as well. I've asked someone here in Japan if they want to go halves on a four-pack of 256GB SSDs, but if he decides not to go in for the deal I'm open to going halves with someone else here.

I'm Stage 2 Red One #378 shipped 8th Feb 2008, so I should be in one of the first Epic-X delivery groups if that helps. My money's being wired to Red now for my chosen Epic-X package but I haven't committed to media yet so I can select the four-pack as long as someone is willing to put the US$5,250 into my account with Red (half the cost plus the 5% customs tax we pay here in Japan). I would then ship the two 256GB SSDs to wherever you are worldwide.

If you have an earlier reservation, feel free to reverse that arrangement :)

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul :)

Still gotta be way cheaper than neg, processing, telecine and tape.

What's a 250 pack on a $150 million dollar film!

it is, because you can always reuse it, show after show, feature after feature. :)

Yeah. Thanks for rubbing it in. I just bought 4 128G cards. A few days later this deal pops up. Had I known, I would have done the 256G.

No deals on 4 packs of 128G cards? There is on 64 as well, right?

If so, I'd sure like a credit :)
