  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

2060 or 2575

Not what I found Tobias! The 2060HD I used on maximum drag felt like about level 3 on the 2575, hardly had any resistance at all. Awful. But the original 2060 has more or less the same drag as the 2575 (at least same ballpark), so that on level 9 you struggle to move it!

Interesting - this comes right from O Conner themselves... Well I really can't comment upon my own experience just yet. Maybe they reacted on the negative responses and adjusted everything a bit?

They told me that a lot of people were happy with the new 2060HD so they weren't just going to change them all, just on request. But as I said, I can't imagine anyone being happy with it, you could more drag on a £100 Bogen head! Good news though, is that if you don't like it they will modify it for you.

Steve,
Who did you talk to at OConnor? So far they have been unresponsive, they are telling us to send it to their service facility and pay over $650 to have it setup like the 2060.

Honestly I didnt even notice that the head was a 2060HD....I never knew this version existed. I spoke to an engineer at OConnor several times who talked me into the 2060 over the 2575 and I just assumed I was getting a 2060 when I ordered.

Hi Greg, same as that, I'm familiar with 2060 and had no idea that there was a different drag on 2060HD - I got mine on the Abel Cine deal. I'm not sure if O'Connor have a European service dept. (I think not) otherwise it will cost me $K to ship it back - that's not including the $650 service charge you mention. This O'Connor is becoming an expensive purchase.

Sorry Emmanuel, I had not been following this thread and was just directed to it. There is nothing "wrong" with the O'Connor 2060HD, it is just designed to different drag resistence than the original 2060. Please note that the 2060HD is the current model; O'Connor no longer sells the original 2060.

If you wish your head to be modified than I suggest you contact O'Connor directly. If you wish to order a head with the old drag settings than please explain this to one of our Sales Agents (or anyone else you purchase from) and we (they) will accomodate you.

I just Purchased the Sachtler 30 II and am very happy with it.

We looked at the Sachtler 25 but felt we needed the extra weight range for the Red one with large glass...last weeks NASCAR shoot went very well and I am happy we went with the 30 II with Carbon fiber stix!
