It seems like one can get a great deal on a trash can mac right now. I was looking at one with 32GB ram, 2 X D500 GPU with 3gb vram. Would this be able to handle Komodo 6K in Resolve with real time playback? I would mainly be just editing and color correcting.

I bought a M1 Mac Mini and it's sort of useless with Komodo files without cutting proxies. I

We ran the trash cans with dual D700s in six edit bays at my last small post supervisor gig and I had to eyeball every program over an hour because they dropped random frames and our cutters were new kids who couldn't see it. Drove me nuts till we reached the final conclusion which was... wait for it... the D700s just drop frames.

Thanks! That pretty much tells me all I need to know. I'll either suck it up and build a PC machine with two 3090s or something or maybe try out a new MBP Max.

I can make a beefed-up HP drop frames too :)
The only ones I had luck with are back in the day with a CUBIX (insert a GPU here) system.
But that was pre-4K so yea Its a tough one.
Check Lift Gamma Gain site for more stable options.
