Can't wait!!

As far as Canon are concerned, they have only themselves to blame. They have all the RAW ingredients to make sensational cinema and video cameras, but corporate conservatism and culture keeps holding them back. To think that a complete newcomer to industry has had more impact than Canon shows both the sterling vision of Red, and, the utter lack of vision on Canon's part.

If Red ever went poaching at Canon, I wouldn't be surprised if many engineers jumped at the opportunity to work for a company where they are allowed to express their talent, and fully unleash what they are capable of.

this is totally insane. i am so hyped about this announcement. i've said it before and i'll say it again....2009 will be the REAL breakthrough year for RED. I am seeing the future, and boy is it RED.

my prediction....it's all about the codec (duh) and....it's all about being modular. think optimus prime in digital cinema camera format....but modernized.

workflow improvements in 2009 (by RED and more importantly, ALL other post software companies) will be mind-blowing. NAB, once again, will be empty booths everywhere and a lineup at the RED booth.

Bring it on Jim.

now it's really hard to tell if one is scarlet or the epic. I think I see scarlet with a mattebox in the second post second crop.

Nothing like a billionaire entrepreneur having fun for producing disruptive technology.:nerd:

I see scaffolding... a place to build your dream machine.

The top is a lens, clearly a prime from the fact that it only has two rings. So thats exciting.

The lower... aww shit he just posted more and it... I am just going to wait.

as nutty was the original RED release, frankly, those guys didn't know shit back then. they had never made a camera.

now, after 3 years of 'camera university' as I believe Jim once called it, and the same team of people making it happen, they will release their 2nd generation camera(s).

They will be so good it will scare me.

Having had the opportunity since May this year to shoot with the REDone on almost a daily basis, I just want to say that I'm more then excited to be part of this ride. I'm already saving my pennies for a Scarlet, whatever it turns out to be.

Please Red-Team .... stop Jim from posting images ...
