Since the Scarlet rolled out we have had a lot of requests for a smaller, lower cost RED Mini Mag. Also is a great option for data safety and onset revolving data workflows.

$850 - Ships next month.

Yes, this is awesome.

Although I plan on getting some larger ones, I do like having some smaller ones as well incase a card fails, it would be less footage.

Great price point... looking to switch over now to mini mags. Wish someone would purchase my 1.8" SSD module with Dragon engraving so I can make the switch.

This is fantastic! More smaller ones are better than one big one. Something happen on the set with one big and everything is gone. Nice.

Good news. Currently thinking about upgrading to mini-mags, this one might help.

Awesome!

Great Size good chunk of Data and Faster Offload times than full 240GB

Looking at 7-18Min v 19-45Min download time depending on your drives

Ideal if your Transcoding all day while shooting

Any chance these could be worked into the trade-in program for original owners of 1.8 inch SSDs, like the 512s are? I eventually want to switch over to mini-mags and the trade-in program is a real deal but it is still a several thousand dollar upgrade to get a new side module and purchase the 512s.

Great to see this!

While I have no official answer, considering that trade-in credit was for more than the cost of these 120GB MINI-MAGs I don't see how that makes "practical sense".

Actually, it might be good to ask if that MINI-MAG trade-in program is still running as well.

To be clear, I wouldn't expect the same level of discount, of course, That would mean RED pays me for the trade-in. LOL Obviously the $1000 (about 40%) discount on the 512s is incredible but the absolute dollar amount is large - around $8K net for turning around my 4 SSDs.

As I remember it, the trade-in program was going to be very long running but, of course, was only good for one order and only for trade-ins on SSDs purchased directly from RED, traded by the original owner. The discount netted 512s at $1400, IIRC.

My Rep said the trade-in was still active and we'd get a warning when it's going to stop.

Still putting funds together for mine, as the purchase of the new side module (and new readers) also have to be taken into account - and I don't see much of a 3rd party market for my existing side module or reader, sadly.

So probably another few months away for me.

Surely the trade in program would not stop until all the upgrades to Weapon are done. I am in line for a Mag Weapon and see no reason to spend money on a minimag side for my current Epic when I am going to a weapon in a few months. So it would really hurt if they stopped the program before all the upgrades were done.
