  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

+1 Module shipping next week

You can't because the module adapter and the +1 doesn't have the same connection points as the back of the camera that the Viewfactor hooks into.

Are you sure about this? If so it will not be compatible with the Action Products/Innocinema gear either as the primary module everything connects to is bolted into these points

By this do you mean that you don't have an on camera HDMI out option, when using this module with EVF and Touch Screen?

That may be an unfortunate reality. Too bad, I like my wireless HDMI directors monitor.

Great! One step beyond perfection, one at a time...
Will be interesting to test with the bomb and the 9" together.

That video makes me want to order one.
Wheres the link to order them?

What would be nice is a module which would enable to record to the audio channels 3 & 4 without having to break the bank for the Pro I/O ;-)

That's been my concern. I can run up to 5 devices using HDMI via wireless, but I've also had a burning need for using both the 9" and the 5" touch. Big compromise. I'd also like to know, if I mount the +1 in the middle of my DSMC module stack, is the HDMI port consumption a software issue or a hardware one. ie. Does the +1 physically block the HDMI port or can I leave a wireless transmitter plugged in and software switch between HDMI or 2x Touch/EVF.

Anyone?

Second, does the Pro I/O and/or Meizler force the same HDMI compromise?

Either way, looking forward to getting this. It may be a bit of a compromise but it's something I've wanted to have for a long time. Thanks RED. Good delivery.

My question about the HDMI not being functional is:
1. Does the module actually need a physical connector into the rear HDMI?
2. IS there a way to turn off the module in the menu, to enable the HDMI again?

Why not get an HDSDI to HDMI converter for the wireless LCD ... Then you can have both.

You have to provide power anyway as the camera does not. I have an atomos connect actually and it may serve it's purpose when using this new module.

I was under the impression HDSDI to HDMI converters would not provide the HDMI bus power needed to drive the wireless transmitters. If I'm wrong, I'm a very happy dude.

Why isn't it on the website? Can't wait to get it switching to the touch screen to the view finder was annoying at times. Glad I can roll out with both!!!!!

wow... $1,250... Pretty expensive for something that should be stock on the camera...

Do you mind pointing out another maker's camera that offers more then one port for proprietary monitoring?
Remember that both the Epic and the Scarlet has a HDMI and HD-SDI in addition to its EVF/LCD port...

Just because RED ONE had two ports it doesn't make it compulsory on all cameras. People takes things easily for granted these days...

Modularity is the name of the game here. For those who don't need second RED monitoring option - it keeps the camera light and less expensive. And you still have that HDMI and HD-SDI when you need it...
And for those who need two RED ports - this is a great and inexpensive way to add one while still keeping the camera compact...
