Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
I've had various RED camera since September, 2008. I use FCP. In the past I've been able to import a .RDC folder. Recently the only way I can get them to import is by opening the folder and importing the R3D files. I don't think this makes any difference but I have a Mac M3. Would love to know...
I've been using RCX since it first came out on a number of different Mac computers. I am currently using RCX 51 on a 2017 iMac Pro but the following is a problem I've had on a bunch of different Mac computers and a bunch of different versions of RCX. When I change the frame size on a clip I...
I feel like I should know what it means when someone says "bump" after RED equipment is listed for sale, but I don't. Can anyone tell me?
Thank you,
Judy
Hi! I've been working in RCX all day doing some color correction. I have some older files from 2015 when I had an Epic-X. With that camera it was easy to accidently hit the tint button. I used to do that a lot. Now I have 3 days of really screwed up footage tint wise that needs fixing. Normally...
:sad:I recently purchased 2 used REDVOLT XL batteries from mpb.com. They were sent to me quickly and I thought I had gotten a good deal, until I found they wouldn't hold a charge. I informed mpb.com of the problem and requested they return my money. We live in the "boonies" about 50 miles east...
:001_smile: I don't post here much but I"ve been a RED user since Sept 26, 2008, when I got my RED ONE and the only available "cards" were CF cards and the twin labtop raid storage was not yet available. I've upgraded several times to my current Epic-W.
I just got 3 REDVOLT XLs recelled by...
I'm using Redcine-X on a late 2015 i-Mac retina. I've been using version 42 for a good while. I am doing a slight color adjustment and then exporting as a R3D trim. Suddenly every time I hit "export" on the export page 3 files show up in "export status." The first is the normal R3D export and...
I've looked on this forum and can't find an answer to my question. I installed Redcine-X on a 2015 MacBook Air and the Post:Look:Effects tab is missing. I erased it and reinstalled it and got the same result. I tried one thing I found in an older post - make an new tab and tried to add...
I'm using RC-X to make ProRes files. I just noticed the resulting ProRes files have 15 or so seconds at the end of stills. The last frame of the clip just sits there for 15 seconds or so. I can cut it off but wondered what I could do to keep it from happening in the first place.
Thank you,
Judy
I will be spending 2 months filming in several countries in Africa next year. Due to the weight limitations of some of the smaller airplanes we will be using I am trying to take only the essentials. Anyone know of a way to transfer the data from a Red mag to a USB hard drive without a...
I am having a problem exporting r3d trim files in redline x. The resulting file is trimmed correctly but it does not retain the flut adjustments I've made to it . Also when it finishes exporting it always has a "finished with error" and "clip 1 of 1 failed" message. I am using both a MacBook Pro...
Hi, I shoot wildlife and use only a 5" LCD display for focusing. I find i can watch the area around me better, for what I might be missing or the bison that is getting ready to step on me, if I just use an LCD panel versus an EVF. My question regards an upcoming shoot. We will be in South...
I have looked on this forum and can't seem to find an answer to a problem I am having. In the last 2 builds of Redcine-X all of the changes I make to a clip are retained. If I put a clip on the timeline and then do some color correction, reframing, etc. all of those settings are retained even...
I turned on my Epic this morning to film a pack of wolves eating an elk they killed in Yellowstone. It was about 32 degrees F, snowing, and really windy. I filmed them for a few minutes and then noticed the temperatures on my LCD. Over 70 degrees C! I turned the camera off and waited for it...
I have been using the Log and Transfer option in FCP to ingest my RED files as well as some AVCHD files. I've read that FCP doesn't take advantage of all of the cores in the new Nehalem 8 core Macs. To see how much CPU it did use I have been monitoring the ingest through the Activity Monitor...
