Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Hi Redusers,
I've moved to LA from little old Melbourne, Australia.
I'm keen to meet up with fellow camera and gimbal nerds, discuss techniques and ideas about how to do gimbal operating better, how to make the gear work better and just have fun and say hello!
Here's my website...
I wish there was a gimbal with the features and power of the R2 and the intelligence and structural efficiency of the MoVI system. But for now IMO the R2 is the go-to option for hand held operating over ~3kg and vehicle tracking shots - even heavier setups!
The good news is that there is some...
Has anyone tested SDI out delay on the Gemini (and more recent releases)? I hope with the faster rolling shutter that something like this would be increased also.
The delay on the REDs I've tried somewhat recently is a few frames slower than the ARRI SDI out - perhaps just under half a second...
I’m a huge fan of RED. However I rely on the SDI for operating remotely, so I have a preference for ARRI cameras because I believe the are tangibly faster on their output.
On a RED I can flick my fingers into the frame and out again before they show up on the output from the SDI, on ARRI it...
I'm getting 'error decoding frame' trying to export a DPX from REDCineX.
It's Helium footage, and linear gamma with XYZ gamut.
Anyone experienced/solved this?
Hi All
I did an interview with Evan McDonald at Freefly Systems and he wrote an article about using the M15 with an Alexa M on Lion - shot in Feb 2015 in India.
There was no Steadicam in India; and most of the tracking shots in India are done with the MoVI. I go in to depth on how I see dual...
I might be wrong, but it seems a lot of the image quality and look between various Netflix shows has a commonality. The Crown, Riverdale, Stranger Things. There's an incredible dynamic range and colour beauty - doesn't remind me of anything. I notice that the tech specs are rarely listed on...
I understand there is variance between the same model of camera. I.e. each RED looks slightly different.
Is there a process during manufacture where the characteristics of the camera are embedded in the system so that transforming to XYZ means you're truly in a device-independent colour space...
I'm looking for someone who can write image processing algorithms, particularly in OpenGL shader language. I've made some progress and I've created basic transforms, but the stuff I'm looking at now is pretty advanced, and I never got past basic calculus.
Please PM me, looking to get this work...
