    AE working space

Going to 35mm via Cinevator. Adobe says ProPhoto RGB with a linear tone response curve (gamma of 1.0) is a good choice for digital cinema work. Is this what I should work with?

    What mattebox was that?

Spotted on the Vitec Group stand at NAB -- on one of the Reds they had on a Sachtler Artemis -- a nice clipon carbon fiber-looking matte box. Couldn't see a logo on it. Asked one of the Vitec guys what matte box it was, he had no idea, "something that came with a rental kit". Does anyone know...

    Oconnor 1030 levers

Buying spare parts directly from Oconnor was a very complicated procedure last time, so I'm taking it to the forum this time... :) I want to buy some spares of the lever that locks the pan arm to the rosette. These look like they may be standard Kipp levers. Does anyone know what size will fit...

    Zeiss mkII 8mm f2

So I "accidentally" won this lens on ebay. I bid $1000 which I assumed would be much too low, but I seem to have won. All I need is a wide lens for 2K slomo work, so this should be good, right? It's Bayonet-mount, so I realize I'll have to get an adapter.

    Cinevate Durus Follow Focus

So Cinevate have finally released their follow focus, called Durus. I know Dennis Wood has put a lot of time and work into this,so I'd say there's a chance it might be good. $894.19 including three lens gear rings. Link It's 15mm for now, but there will apparently be a 19mm option in the next...

    617 lenses and "equivalent FOV"

Just toying with the different formats in my head here. Am I right in thinking that the 617 format has an "inverse crop factor" of about 4? (Pardon my populistic terminology) The basis for my math is that 617 film diagonal is 180mm, so: 180mm is a normal lens. (Equivalent field of view to...

Gear ring for Zeiss ZF 100mm

The Zeiss ZF lenses are popular here these days, so maybe someone can help. I'm looking for good focus gear rings for my ZF set, but the challenge is: The 100mm lens' focus barrel moves in and out when you focus. Unlike the other ZF lenses. The barrel moves approx 25mm out when you focus from...
