Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Grading a feature in Color and having some problems with the roundtrip. It's broken into four timelines. The first two make it to Color just fine and when I send them back to FCP 99% of the clips are correct with a few linking back to the original (pre-graded) footage, but I can fix this...
On their website they list these:

I'm cutting some reels. Finally making enough money at my day job to pay off my hobby of DPing lol.
For corporate/commercial what do clients want to see? I figure talking heads, a variety of b-roll. I'm weak on event coverage... Also throwing in montages and music videos? Should I throw in some...
Looking to save some money on an 11-16mm Tokina, 18-35mm Sigma, and telephoto zoom kit, but tempted to get the 70-200mm IS only I can't really afford it...
On super35 ONLY, how do the two compare? How is the IS on each? I find the IS on Tamron lenses, for instance, to be too jerky for video...
Heresy I'm sure, but I noticed my Mark III flies well on those $200 gimbals and with raw its image quality is pretty good. Only issue is I can't pull focus. I have free access to a teradek bolt but wireless FFs are expensive...
Was wondering if anyone had any experiencing using some sort of...
Do you prefer to use IS on your EF-mount lenses? I know some say it's critical for video and others say it's awful... over-compensates and locks on and is jerky. I'm on the fence, some lenses seem ok, others not so much. The Tamron lenses, for instance have great IS for stills but not video...
I like the pancake lights but don't like the price and the size is a little big for one-man bands like me. What would I lose by going with something like this:

I don't have much material, but I'm cutting my first new reels in a while. Trying to do short (one-minute) reels focused on each type of content: narrative, music video, commercial, corporate, etc. I don't have enough content, though, for four minutes.
How would you combine these categories...
I'm working on a project for which we plan to mix 2k (2048x1152) footage with 1080p footage (from a very inexpensive b camera). The b cam is very sharp, and we will use an external recorder to get prores 4:2:2 hq footage off it. But the 1080p to 2k upconvert makes me very uncomfortable...
Has anyone used Calman or similar software to calibrate a monitor for finishing? I want to calibrate a significant number of GUI displays, HDTVs, and reference monitors (field monitors and a finishing monitor TBD, likely a Dream Color) to a "decent" professional standard for rec709 finishes. Thanks!
Compared a Sennheiser 416, AT4073a, and AT835b side-by-side. No surprise which was the best. Big surprise is that the low end mic (AT835b) was terrible even compared with the cheapie 4073a. Are cheap shotguns (<$500) really this bad? Or is this broken? I want to unload it but almost feel bad...
For Apple Color and Resolve. HDMI input from black magic intensity. What is popular?
I'm looking for something that's pre-calibrated or easily calibrated and with a wide viewing angle etc. Thanks for your recommendations.
I want to label my gear (batteries, camera, light stands, etc.) so it does not get mixed up on set.
Custom decals start at $300.
Would buying something like this ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=830058&Q=&is=REG&A=details )and their "strong adhesive" tape be...
