Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
I want to capture and archive some of my old tapes and I’ll be using a miniDV camcorder and Digital8 (yup) camcorder to capture them via FW800 to USB3 to USBC adapters…
I just want to capture the tapes without worrying abut timecode and even if there are drop outs that’s okay, I don’t want...
I'm going to be cutting a new reel for 2d comp and I think a big part of a reel is the edit, the style, even potentially incorporating motion graphics as I see many high end reels where the work itself looks basic until it is dressed up. I have a friend who works in advertising so I want to send...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010DP8PIU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's 15V (14.8V) and 10mAH, same as many P tap batteries.
I want to hook it up to this:

And use it...
Just curious what the added cost in post of shooting anamorphic is. I assume most of the cost is on set (more expensive camera to get a larger sensor–or more film consumed, more light to get stop, more tricky work with diopters, etc.) but working with anamorphic footage in post has been a...
I work a lot in After Effects. In the past, I've had clearance to post before/after because a lot of the work was more science fiction or for companies that didn't mind having the before released.
I was thinking of cutting a reel of beauty work and clean up work and paint out work... but I'm...
I want to set up a NAS at my apartment so I can edit wirelessly. I usually work in ProRes 422 HQ 1080p or 2k 444. 98% of my work is 1080p or 2k, none is less compressed than ProRes 444. So raw, DNG, DPX, etc. are not relevant to my current needs.
I can't afford a higher end set up right now...
This guy:
http://www.ebay.com/...a32d5a85ac&cp=1
The buyer indicates that it won't cover super35, although I would have guessed it would.
I'm confused how a 16mm lens with a symmetrical design (tessar) can even exist in bayonet mount with a flange focal distance of 52mm.
Anyhow, anyone...
Getting a wireless FF, but need something cheap and decent as a back up.
MUST have hard stops for EF mount lenses.
MUST have a reversible gear ring for Nikon lenses.
Shoot35 Lite?
Fotga?
Kamerar?
Thanks! ACs chime in, DPs I guess too...
Which Nikon adapters have no play and the closest to spot-on infinity focus?
The Iscorama has a stiff focusing barrel and when I pull focus the anamorphic element gets ever-so-misaligned, resulting in a really awful effect not pronounced on spherical lenses.
The oldest eBay adapters I have...
Very good condition for its age except that the focus is a bit stiff, someone might have sat on this lens. Optically very clean, very cool vintage lens with good optics.
$195 plus paypal fees.
Selling because I bought the 200mm f2. :)
Fast super speed prime set for the ≥APS-C camera user (good lenses on a APS-C/Super35, but cover FF, too!). All Rokinons have been de-clicked. Can throw in a few lens gears if you want.
24mm f1.4 (photos below) has seen little use, but I dropped it and slightly dented the mount, which I shaved...
Really nice lens, I took some of my favorite photos with this guy (sample below ). In very good shape, recently calibrated by Canon for focus accuracy and alignment of lens elements.
Really don't want to sell it, but need money. Great lens. Great build quality and very good optics...
Fantastic mic for the price. I've A/B/C'd this with cheap mics and expensive mics (my 416) and this sounds more like the 416 than it does something for this price. Great sound, but very hot (could be good for those with cameras with noisy preamps) and very directional. Not a newbie shotgun mic...
I'm working on a parody of/homage to the Tree of Life and I need that "one" EF mount lens that will give me the perfect look of UWA master primes stopped down to t11.
It's going to be a complement to the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8, which I like. Good color rendering, sharp, contrary, adequate...
Can you get a hard edge on a flag or cookie you place in front of a leko by focusing it correctly or can you only get sharp edges by using the blades and internal gobos?
Current Lekos use expensive mini fast fit bulbs, one generation older uses HPL, I want the guys who use EHF bulbs for a creative retrofit.
So if you have a beat up old Leko that's on its last legs and getting now love, sell it to me and let me build a franken light out of it that will get so...
35mm mostly film, some Red, some exotic formats. Mostly Master Primes and Ultra Primes, mostly wide open for light or stopped down for depth.
But what focal lengths. They feel wide... how wide at the wide end on those steadicam shots. 10mm? 14mm? 18mm? Then lots more "normal" stuff. Anyone know...
Copied and pasted wrong text in last thread. Anyhow:
I want to do some high speed/longer lens car work with a crash cam (C300/1DC type thing), not that we can afford to break the camera but with a SMALL camera. So it needs to be secure, whether on a follow car or the car itself. Also stable...
I want to shoot a few scenes with camera flashes bursting in slow motion onto the subject. Rolling shutter is an issue.
In the past I’ve used actual physical flash bulbs or mechanical shutters on hot lights, but I want a lot of flashes going at once. The scene is a photographer in a studio. Or...
