  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Getting a wireless FF, but need something cheap and decent as a back up.

MUST have hard stops for EF mount lenses.

MUST have a reversible gear ring for Nikon lenses.

Shoot35 Lite?

Fotga?

Kamerar?

Thanks! ACs chime in, DPs I guess too...

You said wireless right? Reversing direction for nikons is done electronically. Of the lower cost FF's I think the Cinegears is the best value and functional one.

Just bought wireless FF. Need a small mechanical backup for shooting pick ups when I have no crew or almost no crew (when I will definitely be using still lenses, EF or F mount).

Shoot35 Lite with hard stops looks interesting? Arri FF1 is too expensive and I found it had some play.

DUDE i love my shoot35 setup. I got the full on studio one for like 600 USD and everyone that has used it has been blown away

Which would you recommend?

This is a real backup purchase, but it needs hard stops and reversible gears for Nikon. For rentals we usually get an FF4 or something and I have a wireless FF on order so this is just a back up (for my personal camera, which is a backup/b camera itself, for my secondary income source so...).

Id go with the top link. The Pro. Get the full setup. Its worth it at 600 or so dollars. Honestly i have a full cff1 oconnor set up and i actually use this shoot35 more. Its light, easy to use, can just toss it in a bag, no slop, big gears. Its soooooo worth the money.

Cool! Does it have a reversible gear for Nikon and hard stops for my Canon EF zooms that lack hard stops?

Also... is it lightweight? This will be on a TINY rig. TINY.

you can reverse the gears yes and has hard stops you can put in. Its pretty solid.

Thanks, I'm very tempted. It looks a bit heavy for the set up I plan to use it on (which is otherwise just a few pounds) so I'm considering the Lite version. It's only $250 for the model with the hard stops... seems like a good piece of kit for the price.

Should I definitely spring for the new v3? I'll mostly be using my wireless FF so this is just for run and gun dSLR style stuff actually.

You guys have me looking at that Shoot35 FF now. Grrrr...
My follow focus is the last remaining cheap rig part from my DSLR days and the it's full of play.

I also got the SHoot35, and so far it is a pretty amazing piece of kit.

Ugg. You're going to so upsell me when I don't have the money to be upsold.

I'm guessing you have the v3 one and not the lite?

Yea man. The v3 pro kit is the best one and the most flexible for shooting and different lenses. Its incredible. Its only 600. Just grab it and have it for a long time. Buy once cry once.

I can guarantee after months of use my shoot35 is just as awesome as day 1 with no backlash at all.
