Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
In the market for one. Have used light weight sticks like Manfrotto 536 and Miller Solo but looking for a hi-hat now to place on a hi-hat board (Dromos). Using a 1030 head. Is there a noticeable difference in the brands? Was looking at something like...
Filling in my base set of lenses (21, 35, 50, 60, 85, 135) in Contax Zeiss. I don't want to own both as they're too close to each other and I'm being frugal.
Any recommendations of 25 vs 28? Although both are considered wide and it's a small difference I'm thinking 28mm. I've read of slightly...
Dragon owner for about 6 weeks. When I first did initial tests on a loaner Dragon, I noticed the colors were more accurate, but since I do much more controlled lighting scenarios I didn't think this would be a factor in my decision to purchase. I have been moving away from shooting live events...
Still from my first shoot w/ upgraded Epic Dragon. I like this 6k stuff. I was previously pulling stills from 4k and 3k which were still good quality, but the 6k resolution is very nice. Note: Unedited jpg file. I realize noise can be cleaned up, necklines can be smoothed out, etc. I'm just...
2015 I will have budget to start looking at building a mid level cine lens set as an owner/operator. However, looking at Phil's thread regarding coverage information I am a little hesitant. I'm wondering if in the future sensor sizes will trend toward getting larger and larger and move away from...
Who here prefers to bake in a look by using filtration, vs using post tools to achieve a similar effect? Will be shooting a fashion spot and unsure if I want to try to use a pro mist filter or some of the post tools I use for skin softening. I have not used filters for skin before and have one...
Have a 650w and a 300w I'd like to run on a 2000w Honda generator. Should this generator be able to run the lights as long as it has gas in it? Was running a few tests and it kept shutting off after a few minutes. Not sure if it's the generator having issues, or just not being able to run these...

Hi all,
Owner/operator here. I upgraded to Epic from Scarlet a couple of months ago and loving it. Having a little bit of a dilemma in regards to the Dec 1 price increase for the Dragon upgrade so would appreciate some input. I have budgeted out for some other tools like a 3-axis gimbal, more...
Traded in my Scarlet and no longer need this. Loved having it on the camera body and gave piece of mind that the SSD was protected. Very good condition. Comes with 2 screws.
Asking $65 (retails for $99).
From '91. Sharp lens, zoom/focus smooth. Body has normal wear and tear for a 20+ year old lens. There are some light 'cleaning marks' on both rear and front elements, but do not affect the image. Used this for a short film recently and gave a great image - need to clear inventory and put money...
Hey everyone,
Disclaimer - computer hardware illiterate.
Now that that's out of the way, I have a Mac Pro 4,1 Nehalem 8-core/32GB 1033 RAM which has been serving me fine for the past 3 years or so. Noticed boot times for the system and the applications slowing down a bit last year with all...
Hey all - I'm wondering if I need a permit to use a camera rig on a car while driving - I'd imagine so. I'm in NYC - anyone have any tips or places I need to register for if this is the case?
Used for LED panel lighting, no longer need. Works as expected.
Asking for $70, goes for $200 new. Local pickup in NYC, or buyer pays for shipping.

Recently shot a project, using a turquoise gel over an ARRI fresnel. To the eye, it looked turquoise. To the Scarlet sensor at 3200k, it looked more blue than turquoise. Looking for an explanation for this, and any way to overcome in the future. No r3ds at the moment to share.
Edit: Red/orange...
