Dragon owner for about 6 weeks. When I first did initial tests on a loaner Dragon, I noticed the colors were more accurate, but since I do much more controlled lighting scenarios I didn't think this would be a factor in my decision to purchase. I have been moving away from shooting live events but am shooting fashion week this week (backstage/runway). When I shot on MX, the mixed lighting scenarios were ugly and required some finessing in post, but never was able to get them perfect. Shot my first season w/ Dragon today, all I have to say is Dragon Color is amazing. Accurate and in some instances better than the lighting I was looking at in real life. Not having to correct each r3d is going to save a bit of time. Thanks RED.

*Edit: Got a quick Instagram cut for client, ignore the pillarboxing, it's actually a square required 640x640 for Instagram - the backstage scenes no CC, whereas previously it would be a mix of orange/yellow/green ugliness:

Was this a firmware upgrade? I haven't seen anything about DragonColor2

It's in the Dragon release camera build and has been in RCX for a month or so.

When can we see some snaps?
I'm handing all the footage off to an editor and am pretty swamped this week. Toward the end of the week I'll start looking through. I don't know if it'll amaze anyone, they're not extremely polished shots since it's just backstage material - but they are just super clean and the colors are spot on in the horrible mixed lighting conditions. All I know is that it is a HUGE improvement over MX.

Is "Dragon Color 2" even available in 3rd party color finishing software? Like DaVinci? "Dragon Color 1" is not available in Avid Symphony. Kind of pointless if you're just using it in Redcine X and can't finish an edited piece.

Resolve supports DC2 already... It has for several weeks.

As I mentioned, not mindblowing, but mixing daylight/flo/tungsten in the backstage areas looks way better on Dragon than MX. Straight from camera, no cc.
