''Betacam'' Word

[Kemalettin Sert]

Come on mods you cant be serious..Whats the purpose of this?
''RED ROCKS'' word would be better imho.

[Austin Glass]

Maybe they feel that a "seven dee" is this generations version of Betacam?

[Gunleik Groven]

¿Que?

[Kemalettin Sert]

¿Que?

we r talking about why REDUSER banned 7-D word.

[Austin Glass]

¿Que?

Another reduser.net Easter egg:

Much like typing s-o-c-c-e-r m-o-m (without dashes) produces the word "Hoochie Mama," typing 7-D (as in Canon) produces "Betacam"

[Jonathan Stevenson]

HA!!! love it... 7D

[Paulo Emílio]

7d and 5d

[Erik Franzén]

7D is the best thing ever!

[Darren Orange]

How about a soccer mom using a 7D?

[Grinner Hester]

I use one as an awesome doorstop.

[Neil Larson]

Okay, have to try it. 7D.

[Michael Hastings]

Maybe they feel that a "seven dee" is this generations version of Betacam?

But that would be a compliment ... certainly Betacam was the most successful professional video product ever.

[Wesley Scoggins]

Type F-L-U-T-E with no dashes and it turns into FLUT™e.

[David Wyatt]

Ahhhh...now this post from yesterday finally makes sense:

what are the guestimated epic-x reservations at?
not asking officially.. just some of the guys here.. what do you think will happen?

a blow up of orders like the red one?
or something a little more mellow.. )with the economy being shitty, and a shitstorm of canon 5/Betacams showing up on commercials)

[Stefan Christou]

soccer mom 7d FLUTEY

[Stefan Christou]

yay!

[Martin Weiss]

Grinner,

I have to formally object to you using a Soccermum as a doorstopper.

Am I really the only one who thinks this sort of thing is (or should be) beneath REDuser?

I'm hardly an HDSLR apologist (the more I see what alternate-line-recording-induced aliasing does to people's eyebrows, pores and beard stubble, let alone its effect on brick walls, shingled roofs, power lines, textured fabrics, etc., the less I like it), but singling out the Seven Dee for a REDuser in-joke strikes me as needlessly defensive.

Is that camera really such a threat to anything RED is doing? Since NAB 2008 I've thought the Scarlet was my dream camera, but if they so fear the Canon 6+1 C+1 as to 'officially' mock it on their own site, suddenly I'm not so sure. Why not pick on somebody I thought was more their own size (F23)? If 2/3" Scarlet is only to be a video-DSLR killer, not the fullsize ENG-cam killer I was led to expect, color me a lot less interested.

It seems to me it's one thing (as long-time readers may unfortunately recall) for over-enthusiastic rank-and-file fanboi posters to question the competence and integrity of Academy Award-winning ASC cinematographers, yet quite another to enshrine mockery of a competitor's product in the very HTML-DNA of the forum.

[Andy Jarosz]

It's not so much that as it seems to spark a lot of insane heated debates about nothing related to RED.

It's not so much that as it seems to spark a lot of insane heated debates about nothing related to RED.

That's true, but changing each reference to read "betacam" does what to help with that exactly?
