Guys - I drove out to meet with Curt a couple of days ago (I was in LA for the RED Day) and he's struggling to get everybody's motors and imperos out the door. He told me a few of the ordeals they've had to pull through and knowing that I'm actually amazed that he's still standing. Now - I'm not going to defend that this has taken so long (my system still isn't fully functional yet, so I'm in there with you all) but I'm sure he will pull through and honor each and every order.

Hi Tony,

What issues are you having now with you follow focus unit ? I have only used mine a few times but it seems to work great. Please let me know so I can check mine for the issue you are having.

Thanks !

Cheers, Tim.

What lenses have you used it on? My problems are related to torque.

Ross- Great to hear that someone so far away also has one of the VF systems! Can you give us an idea when you ordered and when you received? Also please let us know which lenses you are using them on (so we can get an idea of torque power) and what kind of setup you work with (jib, steadicam, tripod, etc.). Also if you could let us know what other systems you've used and what it compares to in terms of noise, ease of use, etc. I am just wondering if when I finally get it I should be expecting a Bartech I got on a good deal, or an Arri lens system that will totally blow me away. Any help you could give would be awesome. Thanks in advance...

Benjamin Zimbric

P.S. Also if you have anything on your website that you could show us, perhaps something using the VF, would also be great.

Curt, still I have not recieved response from you. This problem won't go away. I'll be hammering at you until you properly resolve the issue.

I look forward to your early reply.

I find the VF extremely unprofessional in the way they are treating their clients.

Curt, I'm referring to the faulty Origo, which caused an $800 damage to my Red One which you refused to take the responsibility for.

On 22 Devember 2009 you requested me to send the Origo to you for your evaluation. I did so as you requested. I have not received any response from you after sending you the Origo back.

On 11 February I sent you an email. I have not been graced with a reply.

Now, in addition to an $800 damage, I also lost the Origo and I lost the money I paid for the Origo.

Frankly, I'm over it by now and entirely disgusted with the way you are conducting yourself, mate.

Do you really want lawyers involved or are you going to sort this out as it should have been done in the first place? What is your problem in resolving this issue or even responding to my emails? Surely, you can't blame it on your sub-contractors or a bug in your software.

I look forward to your early reply.

if it helps Pawel.. I am paying attention from an arms length to yours (and others) matters. If your problems are not resolved shortly, I will make an official "adjustment" to our warranty policy regarding the Origo on both the RED ONE, and upcoming cameras.

Thanks Jarred, greatly appreciated.

Might happen sooner than later as i think it's game over. No reports and a couple more units over the last two months (years) and no money back for anyone in many months. I'm afraid 'that's all folks' is all that is left.

Pawel, you did well to get your $ back on the FF but i think it is time to say goodbye to your Origo.

And yes, my $ are gone as well...almost feels like one of those Pyramid schemes that the first few (randoms in this case) are lucky then the rest just send their money into the electronic abyss.

Well I guess the only thing we can do now is HOPE...
Lawsuit won't mean a thing if he goes bankrupt...
Just prove us wrong Curt, and do the right thing! PLEASE!!!
An update (honest or not, LOL) will definitely be comforting as well...

It might be that Curt is not updating this thread like he said but he will give you an update if you give him a call. Why don't you? The same goes for you too Rowland. You want an update? Why don't you call him?

Pawel is continuously writing the same message in this thread although he could speak with him directly whenever he wanted. Of course it wasn't Curt's attention what he was after and gladly for him it looks like he is getting was he wants. I hope he will now stop the negative contribution in this thread.

It's obvious over the last weeks that the FFs are shipping non stop. It's difficult to figure out how many per day but they do ship. It's not a scum and it's not a Pyramid scheme. The only way he is going to bankrupt is if you keep on feeding the issue with irresponsible dirt.

I have no affiliation with Viewfactor and i agree with most here that Curt's on-line communication is bad to say the least but i really want a Viewfactor FF. I have held one in my hands, tried it and loved it. All you guys are doing is trying to ruin it for me and destroy Viewfactor. Then i'll never manage to buy one! :-D

For what it's worth I met Curt during a camera/lens test we were doing last month and used the FF system with the new motors, cage and some other new tech and was pretty impressed.

Not only was I impressed with the gear but Curt seemed like a bright guy and a good person. Now obviously I could be wrong but if first impression count he passed.

I think he is over his head a bit. He is trying to get some new products done at the same time of supporting/improving his current products and as you can see by this thread fix issues customers are having. I'm not sure he has enough infrastructure in place to run a business and engineer at the same time. It's probably time for him to stop giving out his personal email and phone number and let someone else he can trust manage this. Having him go out of business because he can't do everything is not good for any of us.

So to help comfort some of you, he doesn't seem like the guy to rip anyone off or intentionally try to avoid you. He truly must be swamped with trying to run a business (which is never as easy as people think - just ask the Red team) and make killer products.

Come on guys. Stop beating a dead cow on the forums. If you have a problem with Viewfactor then you should get in contact with Curt by phone (in regular business hours) or get a lawyer to do it by regular mail. Agreed - he's not the best to keep us updated and - yes - the product is waaaaay overdue (I should know), but it's time to either pull out or stay in. If your Origo has fried your RED then I suggest you get legal help if you don't see eye to eye about the issue. If it was my RED then I would be just as relentless as you Pawel, but through different channels. I have been complaining for a long time about VF but I'm done being a pansy about it. The refund gun has been pulled out too many times but it's staying in the belt. I'm not trying to defend VF's method of doing business - I just think people should stop complaining about something that can't be solved by complaining here. The stuff will ship when it ships and if you can't wait then pull out. It's quite simple, really.

Pawel, I received your origo and cable awhile ago. I apologize for taking so long to take a look at it. I took it apart and I could not find anything that looked out of the ordinary. I ran it on our electrical tester and found no problems. All of the connectors on your cable are Lemo. I tested the cable and tried as hard as I could to cause a failure and was not successful. I tried to plug the cable in backwards... no success. I plugged the unit into a friends Red and it worked fine. I'm sorry but after seeing the unit you sent back to us I can't accept the blame for your power board failing on your camera. If you don't think I made a fair assessment then I would be more than happy to send the Origo and cable to a third party to test it. I'm not sure if Red would be up for it but let me know what you want to do. I will send the Origo and cable back to you on Monday if I don't hear back.

I ordered an Inclino and an Impero on March 23rd, 2008 at 12:41 a.m.; my order number is in the mid-20's (ORD200803244). I paid in full at that time. This statement, that "It's obvious over the last weeks that the FFs are shipping non stop", if true, is infuriating to those of us who ordered in the first minutes who have received nothing. Where is your evidence that they are shipping non-stop? Have you ordered a Viewfactor FF yourself and paid for it? With all due respect, Miltos, Viewfactor customers have a right to be really upset. I have remained mostly silent hoping that things would get better with Viewfactor, and I believe the only hope of me getting anything for my full payment is for Curt to finally ship me my order, but don't say that dissatisfied people on this forum are just trying to destroy Viewfactor. That's insulting.

I don't think Curt is scum at all, but the shipping out of order thing that is well-documented drives me crazy. I want Viewfactor to succeed; I'm hoping things will turn the corner.

And as far as you getting one Miltos, why don't you order one today - you'll probably get it within a week while those of us who ordered and paid two years ago continue to wait.

...but don't say that dissatisfied people on this forum are just trying to destroy Viewfactor. That's insulting.

It seems that the smiley at the end of my sentence didn't hint you about the seriousness of my statement.

You have every right to be dissatisfied but all i am saying is that you will not make it arrive any faster by accusing Curt on Reduser. Curt is at Viewfactor and this is where you should search for answers.
