Hi,

I'm on a really tight deadline, and i have a project, edited in Premiere CS4, that i want to export an EDL from to take to a Avid DS grading suite.

Before i edited i subclipped everything, but now when i want to export an edl, the edl references subclips, not the master files.

I'm very worried that the edl won't point to the R3D master files when opened in Avid DS.

Can someone either put my fears to rest or suggest a way around the problem?

Thankyou!!!!

Jim

What are the sources referenced in the EDL? They should be the same as the master clip I would think.

Thanks for replying, here's an excerpt from the edl:

CS4 seems to cut the reel name to an absolute 8 including the "_" so it only keeps 2 digits for the clip name, in the above exemple B004_C02 is used for both clip 023 and 025

I just wrote a new applescript modified from my FCP red16 script to deal with CS4 EDLs... I'll see with James if it works all the way once imported into an Avid DS and I might need more CS4 test EDLs to make it fool proof with dissolves, slow downs but an automated workaround seems possible...

The scripts will be great for the EDL correction process, but as an editor I shudder at the thought of having to work with clips names as per the above... yikes!
