and not to get anyones knickers in a twist, I have no problem with it

But the redmote doesn't come with the camera unless you order it for $550?

Shouldn't it just be factored into the price, and up the price 500 buckaroos?

How can we operate the camera without a redmote?!

That color display on the remote looks super sweet. Long way from the Comic Sans of early R1 ;)

I'm probably not buying a REDMote initially. It's cool but I'm thinking about building it out as a DSMC system initially with the side grip and 5" touchscreen. Between the two it should cover everything the Remote handles.

I was hoping to hear more about the kit tonight, personally. It was originally stated at $750, but the smallest LCD alone costs $900... I know ESTC, but just wondering.

Bring on the FLUT. I don't know if everyone caught you will have *independent* control over output LUTs. This is huge. I've come to realize If RED doesn't respond to reeeeally long threads where people are bitching, whining, and begging for something it's probably because they are already doing. ;)

where and when can we put our names down for STAGE TWO or STAGE THREE?

I just want to say to RED thanks so much for this announcement. I got what I wanted...the projected costs of the different modules.

Though the prices can seem "expensive" at first sight, these are true investments in that you will be able to use them in the future for a long long time.

Though there are several people that have been vocal on how they think they were mislead, I am really happy you have been open with us since the very beginning of the DSMC's early conception.

I am also glad that you have chosen to define exactly in which market you are filling...the professional's market.

In my opinion, there is only one way I could see you improving today's announcement....

Give a Scarlet S35 Tattoo for $15,000.

Oh man, if I could have that option...oh never mind. I'm just dreaming again.

Although I like color of the TATTOO limited edition, I think I would prefer to have the EPIC-X in black for reflection issues that I'm constantly dealing with on set. The blacker the camera, the easier my life. :)

That being said, congrats to the RED team on this news and the upcoming release of the TATTOO. I'm thinking about being a part of the TATTOO beta testing...

Hey I dont think I understand your question... We are making the PRO-I/O module.. there is no consideration not to make it. :)

Sorry, I wasn't being clear. Yes, I meant having an option for an upgrade to the PRO-I/O module from the base model if you opt for an Epic X in Stage 2 or 3. Basically paying the difference in price. After all, it is modular system, right?

Dont worry... The Rest of the Stages will come in black :)

Hey Jarred,

Can you address my other questions about the mattebox and weight?

Thx,
M

Personally, I've always been an advocate for the special edition look that the tattoo has. Unfortunately, Im not special enough to get the edition with the look. :emote_hanged:

No mention today of being able to have detached modules running away from the brain via a cable... something people have been wondering about since the initial announcement of the module system...

Hey Mark don't worry we haven't forgotten about tethering :)

Cool :) But I want the TAT ;)

Motion tracking data to help interface with CG. Doing it via optics is expensive and slow, but if you shoot some footage in a green screen studio then the tracking data will tell your 3d software how to move the virtual camera around so the CG scenery lines up with the motion of the real camera. It's a Good Thing.
Are you serious? Is this true? Will Scarlet have the same option? what else would I need for import those data?
