1. There will be a resolution surprise.

2. There will be a frame rate surprise.

3. There will be an accessory surprise.

:)

Maybe we'll learn more about the RED Gunner - at least I hope so. I think the only surprise will be the release dates, since no one knows how the cameras will roll out.

What will definitely happen is the forum will be swamped with post ranging from very insightful to the hopelessly gushing to the mildly insane and the just plain silly - should be fun:)

I don't think we'll have any surprises today. Just release dates, final prices and specs. Nothing fancy. Maybe a few new accessories, like the Gunner and a matte box. For the most part, today's just going to be a lot of fanboy's losing their shit over the Scarlet release dates.

There will be cake and presents.

1. High end price increase.

2. Low end price decrease.

3. Happy customers.

I wish but something tells me that the low end price rises up with a slight performance boost. That's my prediction anyway.

2/3 fixed scarlet kit ships for $4000-$4500

There's going to be a definite price adjustment (high and low) or else Jim wouldn't have taken down the prior price points.

i predict RED is closing down because they are sick of dealing with all these people begging for crazy things in the forum and they just don't feel like dealing with it.......haha just playing

I would guess brain prices will stay pretty much what they were, increase on the 2/3" fixed kit, and a lot of features we didn't know would be included

edit: maybe the reason he took down the prices of all the brains would be that they wanted to increase the kit price and they knew if they only took the kit price off the website everyone would freak

Schedule AND product details? really?

Schedule AND product details? really?

Everyone seems to expect extensive product details....when basically, Jim said they were announcing the SCHEDULE. Did he say they were also releasing product details?

Scarlet 2/3 full-kit, bump in framerate specs, $5,200 - shipping April/May 2010

wishful thinking

I predict that they will announce that they are ending production of the Red One, effective immediately (or pretty much immediately).

I was hoping to see some module/accessory pricing, but I realize that may not happen today. It all depends on how much the schedule is changing. If it's much farther out, then it probably doesn't make sense to give pricing for accessories yet.

I predict the following:

#1: Jim will post images BEFORE 6pm Pacific time. Because ... I suspect he's excited.

#2: Prices and specs will be very exciting.

#3: Some folks will still complain and bitch.

#4: REDUSER.NET server will choke.

I thought he said 3pm Pacific

I would pee my pants if Scarlet wouldn't be 2/3" but... bigger. For small price increase.

if my calculation was correct, APS-C format 24x16mm is 0.944" x 0.63" what gives me 1.13" inch diagnonal. 2/3" is 0.66".

I would jump to river when Scarlet would have standard APS-C chip instead of announced 2/3". But as somebody already said, there are people that would never be satisfied and don't know what they are talking about ;)

Well since we've seen 2/3" pictures alongside it's 5K S35 cousins I'm assuming that Scarlet's lowest end model remains a 2/3" system.

It wont have higher frame rates as "real frame rates cost real money". The increased price will be justified by increased manufacturing costs and some new functionality.

And we wont learn much more than the pricing/schedule. Man I hope I'm wrong :)
