I'm sad...
I'm sad...
Actually, the RED module is a RED battery pack. I'm guessing you just attach the battery module to the brain and add new RED Batteries - sliding in & out. this is what I got out of the pictures. maybe I'm wrong?
I think it would be cool if the LCD or the EVF would be attach like a motion picture camera...no cables. maybe a V-mount attachment for those things.
What else? Maybe I did miss some big news? S35 coming in 2010. What Scarlet fixed/Cinema - 2/3 chip is coming in 2009??? Whippy!!!
To be honest, I feel I've been dumped by RED for stated this new news of the now; S35 til 2010 like a 18 year old girl dating for her boyfriend of 5 years. May sound harsh but its true. I just wished that they would stay on track on the planned schedule. Epic x and Scarlet S35 then Scarlet 2/3 cameras in 2010. Feeled betrayed.

Don't get too excited about the cables... we have yet to see a finalized design or even any word on cabling. You might not need cables to connect your modules, but all that gets you to is the body of the R1 (brain, audio, menu control, etc.) You're more than likely still going to need cables for LCDs, possibly VFs, existing red bricks, etc.
Don't mean to burst your bubble but there's a heck of a lot more to be excited about, as I'm sure you already know.
