It's been almost two years since the first batch of RED ONE Cameras shipped. In that time period, SO MUCH has happened not only for RED but in the world of Cinema and Motion Media in general.
RED has continually upgraded their Camera specs, accessories, and software and thousands of projects have been completed successfully, from music videos, docs, commercials, print media, to shorts, indies, and big budget features.
But this past week, it seems as if yet another paradigm shift has occurred and I believe the ripple effect is going to be felt around the world the likes we've not seen in a long time.
Just this past week we witnessed more RED firsts, such as the release of RED Rocket™, the completion of REDucation SN#001, and more and more integration with many standard hardware and software platforms. Also build 20 has improved the image quality, and the forthcoming SDKs and RED Apps are going to allow third parties to develop even better toolsets and workflows.
In the next few months, a significant amount of Features shot on RED will be hitting theaters. And this fall season will have a record amount of primetime shows shot with RED.
Add on to that the new RED Pro Lenses, and the upcoming release of Scarlet, EPIC, and RED RAY, and it's going to be one wild ride.
If we think RED has made an impact thus far, brace yourself for the real Tidal Wave to come!
