In Western Australia it is illegal to film and distribute hard core porn.what's this?
You can film "simulated" intercourse but not allowed to show penetration.
It's still 1945 here

True the majority of porn is garbage, but we (the porn industry) are not making porn for "artists". We make it for people to masturbate to... and the MAJORITY of people masturbate to people fucking, not an intellectually stimulating story, unfortunately.

Even though I bought a RED, I still primarily shoot my porn with the HVX200. I mostly just mess around with the RED and shoot inanimate things around my house for fun. I have shot some "lead ups" with the RED, and one scene with it, but to be honest. You can't shoot an uninterrupted sex scene using a one-maned camera without auto-focus. You would end up losing the passion and energy your two performers are giving and end up with something like... the movie this thread is about.
I'm sure a lot of experienced (documentary / concert / corporate / eng / efp) operators would beg to differ. You can't shoot an uninterrupted sex scene using a one-maned camera without auto-focus.

Maybe there is a market for "intellectual" porn?

Aiden, which flicks have you made? :emote_popcorn:
So then you're staying an experienced docu/concert/etc camera operator could just as easily shoot a Hollywood Blockbuster?
I've heard about things like this. It's weird, ......................... I've heard about weird porn attitudes and open racism

I don't believe that just because you have experience shooting one thing, that makes you experienced in shooting another, if this were the case, you would see better porn shot.
The people who shoot porn aren't retarded and unskillful, they just shoot what they like to see, at least in my case. Not everyone is going to be a fan of the way they shoot.
.... We should make this thread a sticky...
I don't remember any DPs in Eyes Wide Shut...
Australia has racism, sure, but no more than most cities around the world.
Country Australia is a different story, we get along out here in the scrub.
Have your checked the original post?Well if the moderators would put the links back ...
How would the style be different - I'm curious to hear how autofocus influences the shooting style.Good and experienced cam op with a 2/3" could pull it without any problem, but the style of shooting would be slightly different.
1.) I would never ever call autofocus "smooth", practical at times, maybe, but not "smooth" - or have you never had a shot ruined by an autofocus pumping between two nearby focus points? (Whenever I have to use a small camera, the first thing I do is switch off the auto-focus.)Larger sensor and smaller DOF are a different thing, though, and expecting this to go as smooth and as practical as auto focus is expecting too much.
The 4 times I've been to Australia, I experienced far more racism against blacks than the 13 years I've lived in California.
