  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

VFS Inclino, Imperio, Origo News ??

Listen, i don't exactly feel great about having canceled my order, it's not why i paid my money, to ask for it back, I came on board early ( over a year ago ) and paid my money up front, i showed my good will. But the way VF have handled this is appalling.

I don't think anyone should be told not to ask for a refund, we have been VERY patient, what is happening with people coming to the end of the road is not unreasonable, to the contrary we have gone above and beyond with understanding and patience in what could be termed intolerable business behaviour.
Let's be clear about this, we gave someone a few thousand dollars of our money, in my case hard earned money. And we have listened to promise after promise deadline after deadline come and go without fruition. Without communication, nothing most of the time.

When i invested with VF i did it with the best intentions, with every hope that they would create and ship me a fantastic product within a reasonable time frame, and that's the key word here, REASONABLE.

As i stated in previous posts, my concern is the future. And i would ask all VF investors, what is the future? How is this going to work for you? Returning the unit for repairs and servicing? spares? longevity?

If all along i had been given a constant supply of information, that was accurate and regular. Maybe on the VF forum or via mass mail out to buyers then i would still be in for a unit. I'd still feel like i had a relationship with VF. As it stands i feel as though i've given my money to a company that then turned it's back on me. There are lessons for us all here.
Any info i have about the units i have found out on these forums from other people not VF.
I mean i just read that someone has order number 7 and they don't have a unit yet some others do? If 7 units haven't gone out of the door, how can there be any truth in 20 units a week shipping from given dates last month?
It's just garbage, utter garbage. None of this has any continuity it's nonsense and that's why i can't do business with this company, and i wouldn't blame any other person who felt that way also.
 
It's well past time for VF to come clean. These questions need to be answered; they need to be answered here at RedUser. They need to be answered now.

1. Does VF have the financial resources to issue refunds to those who want them? If yes, will VF honor the promise to do so?

2. Is VF still taking cash in advance orders?

3. Are there any VF FF units working properly in the field by actual customers? If so, who are they and why are they not touting VF in this forum?

4. Will VF give a date certain by which it will ship all existing paid in full orders or issue refunds?

Frankly, it makes little difference whether the VF guys are "nice guys" or talented or possess any other attribute. What does matter is that they are absolutely terrible businessmen who have more than amply demonstrated that they cannot be trusted with a customer's cash.

To go further, I believe anyone who is determined to continue with VF could very possibly come to grief. They may well lose their money completely or have a product which is impossible to service in the future.

I'm not forgetting the Origo issue either; VF sold a product which used as directed bricked many Red cameras.

For me, VF is forever tainted; I will never buy anything they make, assuming they actually do deliver something in the future.

I do not have one, but have used one in the field and it worked fantastic. I also used the Origo on the same shoot and it worked without a hitch.

I can't speak to why others have not posted any reviews. As for me, I was completely happy with the unit I used and as I told Curt at NAB, I will most likely get one ...... after all the crap is worked out.

This matters for some! Nice and talented go a long way for me.. I've met enough talentless wankers who are good at the basic rules of business but never get my money.

I hope that the reason why some people, who have ordered and canceled, still seem determined to steer this to a nasty conclusion is not what my cynical self is telling me...

It's up to everyone self to decide. But remember; many of us waited a long time when "Red was a scam"... I'm quite happy I didn't bail out then, and I will not do now either.

Apples and Oranges, you can't compare the two. RED did everything the right way. Regular updates, lots of communication. Have you looked at the VF website recently. Last update 16 April, over 3 months ago. That never happened with RED. That's certainly one of the reasons i bought in.

I can't believe that VF don't read this forum. And if they do, that they don't respond in some way to what is going on here. Why am i even saying this, of coarse i can believe it, they haven't responded to any of my emails, and many others by the sound of it.

I agree with Leo, VF need to come up with some real answers, REAL, not fanciful dates, no more "we're getting these out of the door, and sending shipping numbers this week" and then in the next breath, "it seems there was one more little problem that we missed" ahem, i thought these puppies were built ready to go out the door, with shipping numbers?? It's just not ethical to do that, because somewhere along the line either the truth is being bent a little or someone is a little deluded.

I think leo is absolutely spot one, we need answers, we are owed answers.

Leo, As far as I know you got your refund LONG AGO. So why are you continuously revisiting this thread? To throw salt in their wounds? Were you that hurt? I'm sorry Leo and mean no disrespect, but stop being a woman! You're repeating yourself over and over again and it starts to be boring. Yes we know you're angry and we know you will NEVER buy anything from them again, but the fact is that YOU GOT your REFUND long ago.

As I see it you're here for 2 reasons and most probably both of them in a hate love kind of way. You are either so indoctrinated with your silly hate BS that you're simply here to hopefully watch this fail. Or you still will have to crawl to the cross to buy one when it's up and running. Personally I think it's a little of both.

Further more. I think that we all know that this is more or less a 2 man band of 2 NON "eccentric" billionaires (mean that in a good way Jim). I also think we all understand that a mass pull out will mean the death of them. So why are you pushing for it? I can tell you that I really don't want to loose my money (that I put in over a year ago and it's for 3 full systems). So I don't appreciate your little hate posts visits.

I also think that it's time for the guys who actually have received them to post reviews. I know most of you probably were kickin and screamin but lay that aside and step up. I also wish that you're objective and that you don't belong to any of the pre ship guys that got a NON FULL version (and haven't been upgraded yet).
 
Firstly, Fredrik, I resent your unprofessional and unwarranted personal attack.

I post on this thread because I do not want others victimized by VF. We are a community; I feel an obligation to raise a warning flag when conditions merit, and this one certainly does.

Red was quite correct in issuing a warning about the dangers of using the Origo. Many Red users had their cameras fried by the Origo and lost both money and camera time.

I fear that those who have paid in advance will never get their money back if they attempt to do so. I have serious doubts about future service on VF products.

Got the parts back from plating on Friday. Were assembling 20 units over the next few days.

This is the last post here from Curt, another "in the next few days" quote. Has anyone received notice of an impending delivery of any of these units?

Does anyone have an information at all?

What do you know Frank?

Does anyone with a unit have anything to feedback?

Simply that we all (I include myself here ;-) like to be proved right. If I had made the decision earlier to get my money back because I believed the company can't deliver I might (cynical hat on here) want the company to not deliver.

I'm generally not particularly patient or trusting (not like Fredrik who I have of-forum experience of his nature) so I would have probably pulled my money ages ago If I hadn't spent some time talking to Curt.

The thing to remember is that he could have shipped us shit with the first lot of cast parts he received. He didn't because he wants a system that is part competitive with systems that are 4-5 times the price. Rather than noisy and clunky.

I'm not a VF reserve holder but I did observe one of these in the flesh last week (in the hands of a paying customer) and was very impressed at the build quality. FWIW, as soon as all these logistical problems are taken care of, i'll be there to give Curt my money. He's been through a lot, been roughed over by a number of people, i'm really pulling for him to make it and provide us all with kick ass products at kick ass prices.
 
i think that's the difference, michael you have had some contact with curt, shawn you have seen a unit. Most of have had nothing, no contact.

I Have tried to email and ring VF and have not recieved a reply nor been able to reach anyone on the phone.... Anyone know whats going on ???

Anyone located near them can you drop in and try to get an update or even find out if they are still working there?

I have and have been using the Impero knob portion of the system (I do not have the motors; I use it with the Birger mount).

FABULOUS.

The news is getting worse by day and yet no one from VFS is commenting. How the heck is anyone someone supposed to sit and hang tight with this silence. 9 days and counting for me!

Me neither, including the PM i sent CVB regrettably asking for a refund. Id prefer a FF, but my getting my money back is in a not so distant second place.
