Any chance I could receive mine by the end of next week? Yeah, I have a job that could really use it. If not, I'll cope, but it would be nice to know...

Also can you tell us a bit more about the other options we received via email: I'd like more info on that mattebox that can thread onto the lens. Does either filter stage rotate? Who makes it?

What additional protection does the 77mm slim glass filter provide? Is it just clear glass, UV or UV+IR?

Had the chance to try out a prototype of this lens last week on a fashion job. (Thanks Matt!) We had to shoot in a tiny 1979 Chevy Nova so we stripped down our camera and put on the Tokina 11-16 with a circluar ND .8 screwed into the front of the lens. Worked like a charm and the bumpy ride up the Griffith Observatory yielded the awesome sun-drenched dreamy footage that we were going for. For the price, this lens is a no brainer. Get one.

Here's a frame - we're about 12" from the model's face...

Great news! It clears the MB20-II at 11mm! Even with a pola and a screw in ND9 This thing kicks ass.

I'm pretty sure that's at 16mm - the model was lying sunk into the seat, thus the windows looking they way they do.
