  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Crazy steadicam

You know, the F-Puller had a FIZ...

Perhaps a little too much running going on there, could of sat on an apple box and phoned it in from in front of stage.

But that step off - Damn! That was really impressive.

Probably a great big gouge in the front of that thang after it slammed into the stage.

Did anyone else flash back to "This is Spinal Tap" while watching this concert? Incredible move. Charles, I was one of your students in Malibu 10 years ago. Good to see a posting from you.

Insane. Totally insane. One wrong step and you can end really f.cked up and quite for sure sell your gear (segway including).

fantastic shot

it actually seems he speeds up after dumping the segway.. but I guess that is just from not having close visual references until he gets close to the singer

Absolutely stunning. I don't know how production allowed that to happen, but it's a breathtakingly awesome move. Props to the operator.

And, not that it has anything to do with anything, but I think the song is sweet. Haha

That ONE shot had to have cost at LEAST 10 grand. Steadicam, operator, segway, focus puller, insurance, brass balls... Expensive shit... :)

I've never used a steadicam--are those two zooms in the shot (when circling the singer and running by the guitarist) controlled by the camera operator himself or remotely via the control room?

Could be either, but more usually the operator does it with a handle mounted zoom controller.

It beats the hell out of me, how did he steer the segway for that length of time and that speed, at the same time as holiding the camera, amazing work. !

some surfer experience :)

the is zoom..it the operator doing it

It is Karsten Jacobsen. He is a brilliant operator from Copenhagen/Denmark.
