Something that I can't get understand yet:

Will the new FF35 lenses (auto etc) be cine-style designed for?

Or more dedicated to still photography?

Will the servos be manually controllable and repeatable?

I'm imagining something like a remote Follow Focus Unit built right into the lens.

Then we could just attach a follow focus wheel and plug it into the camera like a geared Follow Focus unit but without the intermediary gearing.

Even though its field of view will be reduced, will the automatic features of the FF35 lenses work on a 2/3 rd system while recording video? Or are they Automatic features just for still photography?

I'm sure the full specs will be released in timely matter about the ff35 DSMC lenses. I wonder though based on the picture if the lenses will have focus marks on the barrel? If not it will be next to impossible to go out on an actual shoot. The photo doesn't have the markings. So i hope that to some degree it will have proper focus markings. aside from the still assist features manual switch.
As a hybrid lens it probably won't have everything of a dedicated format but i imagine at least most of the standards.

I'm also curious how the auto DS features will play and collaborate while using the camera in filming mode. Kind of exciting if they do crossover and work really well.

Remember that what we post is not likely to be what we release...

Aren't you getting married or something?
Cheers,

Yeah, like marriage ever stopped any of you guys from posting here!

Sometimes I think marriage ENCOURAGES posting around here! :)

These are one of the most interesting things about the new Scarlet/Epic program, IMO. Autofocus, stabilized cinema lenses pretty much don't exist. It will be very interesting to see how these lenses behave and what kind of control the operator or assistant will have over the focus motors.

We've seen some interesting things with AF motors recently. The "Shot Transition Function" of the EX-1 comes to mind as an extremely handy little AF motor task. Full remote control of focus and zoom would be even cooler, obviously.

I've gotta say, the idea of a Scarlet FF with a 300mm stabilized lens shooting 6K RAW pretty much makes me start to salivate.

Wait, what? Autofocus? Really? I didn't see that. I didn't think this system (Scarlet) would have AF capability? Is this for real?
