Great stuff! Is this a 416 or 417?

If it's either, it's a 416... that's a .223 lower receiver. The 417 has a notably different receiver design, most notably around the magazine well.

The upper receiver is a 7.5" Saber Defense with the Adams Arms Piston System on it. It was also on a full auto lower that we had on loan from the Scottsdale Gun Club. We ran so many rounds through that rifle without a problem. A couple 80 round mag dumps.

In May we are going to torture that upper again along with some other gear that wants to be featured in the next video.

Carmina Burana was Hitler's favorite music. Hitler was also a bad artist. I can't believe that some people are so proud to make such kind of videos, especially these days... Hey guys, still no victory in Iraq ? In Afganistan ? And what about the NY massacre ? Another Reduser with testosterone and no brain ?

Come on guys, if you're lucky enough to own a Red One, just do something which is worth it, from an artistic and intellectual point of view, if you're able to, of course...

I'm not trying to start anything here but please don't insult me by calling me names. Believe it or not I do have to work hard and use a brain to get these shots. But it is one of my favorite things to shoot. You should learn how to have some fun and not be all bound up by what others have told you to think.

Also I never use any of my guns to hurt or kill anything. There primary use is paper hole punching or blowing stuff up every once in a while. But I do see it as a form or self-defense training for hopefully a day that will never come.

Nice shots! Can't d/l the vid cuz I'm on my work pc, but will definitely check it out at home. Really like the first pic attached.

Curious, and maybe a dumb question, but what's the final use for a project like this? Private training vid, (public) enthusiast, advertisment...

Its kind of an ad with a nice healthy splash of gun porn. Its not promoting a certain product or anything like that. I like to think of it as a wow type of video that will make people want to go to the Tactical Coordination website and buy from them...once their site is up and running.

Nice shots. Really like it Andrew. The high frame rate really pulled out the velocity. Nice! The stills you pulled are awesome.

I tend to bitch a lot about the use of O Fortuna being a staple for dramatic scenes, especially battle scenes...why do you think Hitler liked it! I do wish people would stop associating great music with people. Its obvious why it was hailed by the Nazi's, the same as Wagner - its incredibly powerful and dominating. My problem lies with the wish that I had done it first. I was brought up on Gregorian Chant, and before i had even seen any film, I was mesmerised by O Fortuna. But without being too critical it is a bit of an obvious choice. But that doesn't mean it was far from being the wrong choice because it still evokes the same emotional response...and really does make you stir.

Not a fan of 'Gun Porn' as you like to call it, as I don't like guns...period - probably part of my English sensibility!!! Irrespective of this, it was very nicely shot and for the kind of people that they want to attract, I sure it will put them into a gun buying frenzy!!

BTW Kristan just to clarify a point Hitler wasn't a bad artist at all, in fact he was quite good (in a technical sense). The problem was he wasn't original. His art was very prosaic and unoriginal and copied other popular artist stroke technique and use of colour therefore his work was generic. This is why art psychologist were never successful at deconstructing his work.
---The term 'Bad Artist' does not exist. There is no such thing.

I am with you! I too hope that day never comes, but with the North Koreans demonstrating long range missile capabilities, having nuclear weapons, their proclivity to sell and proliferate to the apocalyptic Iranians, and the conclusions of the Report of the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack, wise people must assess their risk aversion and look to themselves for preparedness.

Ms. Stewart, please don't judge the rest of us until you've read the report and considered the implications. If you worry about this, Red cameras should be stored in a Faraday cage, and I have little doubt that the standard aluminum hard cases will function well as a Faraday cage.

I think this thread will be alot better if people stop commenting on Kristin Stewart's post.

The air being pushed by that .50 is insane.

What other lenses did you use Andrew?

Yeah the .50 does push a lot of air but the .338 Lapua round was booking it. I was trying to get the same thing at a 1000 yards but the bullet just moves to far away. Maybe if I had a 400-600mm lens I might be able to get that trace out that far.

I'm sure most if not all of you saw the ricochet that cut down that jumping cactus. Of course that was after the explosive round busted through a half inch of steal. There really is no where to hide with that round.:gun:

WOW, nice f'ing grabs... DL'ing immediately!

EDIT: That "trace" is something spectacular to watch, I am still amazed at how much you get our of 120fps. What was the distance to the target? I am also curious to find out a dB measurement for those 0.50 cal snipers! It seems they really were incredibly quiet!?! That is a serious "tool". Great shots and great shots. Thanks for sharing.

I'd just like to be the first to say this video, and by extension yourself, is a crime against humanity...
Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao ... Mass Murderers Agree: Gun Control Works!

for the shooter ....

Did you use a hard drive ... if so were there dropped frames from the loud explosions (no question mark on this foreign keyboard)

I hate repeating myself but if the political commentary continues I'll shut this thread down... which would be very sad because there is plenty of valuable shooting info that could be shared here.

Last time... no politics, disrespect or emotional badgering. PLEASE.

Jim

Jim,

Trying to glorify the use of weapons by showing pretty pictures with a magnifiscient music IS a political propaganda. When will people realize that you can't film anything without thinking about it, about the way you edit, the way you frame ?

So, if you're really honest, just close this thread. It's just NRA propaganda.

Just commenting about the pretty aspects/technical aspects of Leni Riefensthal's work while forgetting about the message she's delivering is just stupid.

CLOSE IT NOW. Or expect some comments.

Kristin, you're missing the point. Anything is political when viewed in the proper light. What makes commentary unnecessarily political is when people start to dictate what is morally and politically appropriate. You obviously have a real aversion to firearms. That is fine, I respect that, but please respect those of us who happen to find firearms interesting and happen to enjoy a bit of gun-porn.

I see no "NRA propaganda" here. You're off-base. There are threads posted on these forums all the time that are offensive to various members. We are an open community that does not dictate what others can or should shoot with their cameras. If you don't like this thread, please leave.

This same tired discussion happens every time someone posts clips with weapons, military vehicles, nudity and sexually suggestive images and offensive language.

Thread closed.

Let's try it again: http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28621

Kristin, you would do best to just not go in there. ...Just sayin'
