  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

In the shots at night with the full auto you can see just how bad the rolling shutter thing can get. But I was just shooting at 1/48th and some other shutter angle might diminish the effect. Next time I'm filming something like this at night I'll make sure to do some tests.

Make sure to do your research on the camera and read the instruction manuel front to back. It helps a lot. Also if this is a project I would suggest having someone with the camera that knows it until you feel more comfortable with it.

The smoke depends on the lighting and the type of rounds you are shooting. Blanks will give you more smoke and some of the overseas ammo like Wolf is a little dirtier.
 
I once sang Carmina Burana as a Treble when I was a young lad in the Royal Opera House in London... no gun demonstrations there, which was shame, it might have livened up the performance.

Great footage, I like the slow mo case ejections. What frame rate was that at?
Also, are the air disturbances seen on the long shots real or post?

I don't think that the H&Ks come in that short a barrel (7") Jim. I believe that may be a registered lower with a standard M-16 upper.

Regardless, the fireball from a barrel that short is impressive.
 
Carmina Burana was Hitler's favorite music. Hitler was also a bad artist. I can't believe that some people are so proud to make such kind of videos, especially these days... Hey guys, still no victory in Iraq ? In Afganistan ? And what about the NY massacre ? Another Reduser with testosterone and no brain ?

Come on guys, if you're lucky enough to own a Red One, just do something which is worth it, from an artistic and intellectual point of view, if you're able to, of course...

I guess we should never make any films with fast cars because they kill many times more people than firearms, huh?

Take it down a notch, guys. Kristin, you're entitled to your opinion, but that's all they are -- opinions. Trying to dictate what some people consider to be entertainment, art, etc.. is just stirring the pot and you're going to piss a lot of people off. I suppose that's the same thing with those who post videos that contain subject matter that could offend others. In all fairness, the title hinted pretty well that there would be weapons on display in this thread and the first post removed all doubt. You didn't have to watch.

Ed, the air disturbances looked real to me. Looked like those shots were taken at high frame rate and a longer lens like that 80-200.

Now now.
Its intent that she is referring to. Everybody drives a car with the intention of getting somewhere. Very few people uses guns, but almost always to injure something living. Therefore the ratio of use to harm is much higher in the later.

Now, I'm not usually a serious dude who minds what people do one way or another, but you are angrily defending a culture which is questionably focused.

The air distortions from the .338 Lapua and the .50 BMG were real. I believe its a phenomenon called "trace". You can see it with a spotting scope but of course its moving much faster. It was shot at 120fps with my 80-200mm Nikon Zoom.
