  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Fos Sale Panavision cookes 6 lens Set

Red=Missing
10, 12, 14, 16, 22, 24, 28, 32, 40, 50, 85, 100, 135, 180(T3).
I do have a 200mm T2 Nikkor though.

I've never used the 12mm, looks nice. I have the 14mm... The 10mm is just plain badass. I know a guy that had one for sale a month or two back, don't know if he still has it. Wanted to buy it myself, but couldn't justify his $12.5K asking price. Ouch.

This Panavision set is so intriguing... I really don't know what I should do here.

Its a 20mm not a 22mm...interesting lens, has a three blade iris.

I'm with you Evin, standard speeds are pretty sweet...especially on Red.
I have a similar set:
16mm #71XXXX
20mm #71XXXX
24mm #74XXXX
28mm #88XXXX
32mm #68XXXX
40mm #81XXXX
50mm #88XXXX
85mm #81XXXX

Doh! What do you think of the 28? I've been told that It's essentially Zeiss's first experiment with floating element design and pretty similar to the 28mm UP.

Jamon, unfortunately I have no bearing on what they might go for. I know what I'd pay if I had the money but I don't, so it's moot. If whoever buys these lives in LA though I will happily buy Beer and lunch to have a play date with your new babies:love:

When I bought my 2c in 1998, I purchased a full set of Speed Pancro standard mounts for $800. (ser II) Had the little focus ears. They made beautiful pictures.

I went to OTTO a few weeks ago to test out their Cooke Speed Panchro Century lenses, shot some footy,

Bob's lenses are really nice and will produce a similar picture to the video above. I was going to snatch them up but ended up going with a speedier set of optics instead. ;)

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the link

I did put a link on here to a trailer from a movie we shotm but it's gone down, so anyway will post another link as soon as i can

Be careful it's a bit heavy duty on the language, if easily offended stay away!!:cold:

So far i have one offer and lots and lots of enquiries to my price, the truth is guys that i will sell these lenses to the person who puts the best offer in...as i really don't know how to quantify a price on them...that's the truth. They are just so unique. Like i said it's a once in a lifetime set.

Yea, the 28mm is different. It is the largest lens in the set and weighs twice as much. It is a great looking lens, I dont have a 28mm UP in my set so I cant compare. My 28mm is one of the last standards produced, it is a very late sn...in like new condition w/ original box.

If you don't know how to price them why don't you put them on Ebay?

Because i will get a million emails asking a million inane queastions and loads of scammers, and i wanted to give you guys first dibs on em'. As i said Ian i will sell them to whoever gives me the best offer, simple, no matter what that offer is, by sunday i will offer them to whoever that person is.

If it was a set of Supers, or a set of S4's etc i could price them, but these are different, and they will go, so if you want them i am happy for you or anyone else to have them.

"In selecting lenses, Savides researched the brands cinematographers had used in the ’70s,
settling on a set of Cooke Panchro prime lenses as his workhorses. He explains, “The Panchros are simple lenses
that don’t have the contrast of today’s super-sharp lenses. They flare; in fact, there is a veiling throughout the whole lens,
a subtle milkiness that today’s coated lenses don’t have. I like that — it beats the black up. Films from the ’70s didn’t really
have great blacks, certainly not the kind of black you have in today’s stocks.”

Here is a link to a movie trailer , mainly shot using the cookes, make sure you watch it in High quality, which isn't exactly hi, but it's as good as it's going to get on youtube. thanks

Thanks to everyone for their interest in the these lenses. I will be getting back to those concerned by sunday. Looks like they are going to a UK buyer at the moment, which surprises me, what with the weak pound.

Bob,

Fancy giving us a ball park figure? I really have no idea what they may be worth but may stick a bid in if it's not totally out of my league.

Interesting that they think the 2C had a registration pin. It did not. It relied upon the pressure plate and spring loaded side rail for registration.

i did buy a set of 6 speed panchros last fall for 4800 usd.
rehousing to PL costs around 1800 USD per Lens.

so thats 15 600 USD.

So whoever buys it.. this is a treasure.
You will love these lenses

The glas makes one of the most beautyful images.
