Birger Lens Mount Reservations

instructional videos

instructional videos

I wonder if Erik will be shooting the instructional videos on a RED with a Birger mount a RED with an 18-50 or something like a Z1. It doesn't matter but it would still be funny to know.

If instructional videos prolong in any way mounts shipping though. I'd rather just have the mount.

Actually a fellow REDuser is going to do this, and he has a five person crew scheduled. I think it is being shot on an HVX.

I won't be there for the shoot, so it will not delay shipping.

Papers back to Erik... Just waiting for signatures now..... Light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter :)

"when's the last time you went wahoo?" i think that from some movie, but thats how i feel!

lens mount certification video???

lens mount certification video???

There are many skills and activities in life that require certification. Changing a Birger mount is at the bottom of the required skill/training level compared to almost all other certifications. In the Birger case a training video would easily make anyone with only moderate mechanical aptitude an expert.

We have this video in pre-production... scheduled for shooting next week.

Installation instructions, including a timelapse of the process have been available for some time at:
http://www.birger.com/pdf/Assembly_Instructions_Large.pdf

can we make any assumptions that this video you speak of will fulfill lens mounting certification requirements thus keeping warranty/upgrade path intact?

i'm on the fence about canceling my birger order. shipping out a camera body everytime i want to swap a pl/canon lens mount is a dealbreaker. i respect red's warranty conditions but i chose to purchase a red one for the convenience that renting or shipping out will never allow.

Jarred, would you be able to communicate the requirements for the mount purchase? Does it need to be installed by a certified lens tech? Does installing it void the Epic X upgrade path?

I guess what I want to know is...once these papers are signed, is there any invisible risk to installing this mount yourself? I'm really confused. Can you make some sort of clarifying sticky, so it doesn't get buried in the zillion-post thread?

The agreement that everyone is talking about explains this very thing. And I am under the impression there will be an installation video of the mount also.

You're covered, don't worry.

One thing: If you asking if you will be liable if you break your camera while installing the mount in your place of business or home. The answer is "of course". Who else could be responsible?

One signature is on the document. I am firing up the computer with the scanner to get it back to RED for the second and final signature. As for the detailed questions, hold tight just a little bit longer... everybody is going to be happy. I am.

Based on my last visit to Birger just before x-mas people are going to be very pleased with whats in store. Quality is top notch and the pairing with the Impero is just excellent.

Ok, now things are moving,

Lauri hang in there, got a great feeling about all this now and it's about to come to be.

You certainly deserve your mount quickly.

Can't wait, Birger mount coming soon...

Great news Jarred, with these mount solutions becoming realities more RED cameras will be sold I'm sure. Glad it's working out.
