Sorry to be dense Jim but is that the fixed lens?
I dig this little guy. Is the bottom handle also a battery? Or is it purely optional?
-Stu
Absolutely... the RED Riser has native Arri 15mm and 19mm support. The two current RED base plates and Arri or Element plates need an inexpensive adapter. I know Element will offer a new base plate for EPIC and Scarlet with 15mm and 19mm Arri standards.

Hi Jim... In order to protect sensor of dust, above all on Scarlet model if we change frequently lenses, have you imagine a system like a small shutter inside we could close when changing lenses ?... Thank you very much for your answer and for these wonderful products....

I think it is the fixed. It has more ridges on the side than the others.

it looks as if you can unscrew the whole fixed lens and put on the other mount - is that possible
And the handle...
Jim
Thats what I was thinking (hoping) before the deeper body was pointed out. buy the fixed lens Scarlet, upgrade to the Nikon mount later... sweet!
But by the looks of it, the reason the body extends back is due to the lens elements extending back further into the body (it is 8X after all), meaning the sensor would be pushed back too. Just my thoughts... Peace out!
Tim.
Nope, Jarred already mentioned somewhere else that the fixed lens... is well... fixedit looks as if you can unscrew the whole fixed lens and put on the other mount - is that possible
Jim, I own a RED 1 and I operate a variety of cameras on features, TV shows, and commercials. Cameras go on my shoulder all the time. One thing that jumped out at me from your lovely hand held configuration is the exclusion of the simplest, yet most important thing: a handle on top to pick the thing up and put it on your shoulder. Please.
Just didn't have time to show all options... top handle is being designed now. Plus, old top handle works great!
Jim
I have to agree with Cesar on this (his post #452). I hate to be at all negative as I am a big Red supporter and a customer, but the Red One has a much more practical form factor than the layout in this rendering, however cool looking it is.Hi there,
First post, sorry about my english, I'm doing my best!
Amazing stuff here Jim! Can't wait to have mine!!
Question. Maybe I'm wrong but... it's just me or the XLR sockets are too close to the handheld? If any XLR cables are plugged, wouldn't be in the way of all the hadheld controls?
Thanks for doing this REDteam.
