  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Also... Will using this charger (or any third-party charger) void the warranty on my RED Bricks if something goes bang?

IDX and many other manufacturers have had simultaneous/parallel V-lock chargers for years.

I´d be curious to know why one would need a specific charger for RED? One hopes this is more than a marketing gimmick? It´s all LiIon, after all... I for one am happily charging my globalmediapros and IDX and Sony batteries on an IDX charger.
 
How much $$$.$$ & will this deplete the life of my Red bricks if I stick to the standard charge cycle? 4 batteries in 4 hours sounds awesome.
 
This looks great - also interested in UK distribution and pricing.

Several advantages to this system as I see it - not only do you get simultaneous charging, you get a charger that doesn't fall over if you take one of the bricks off! Plus it leaves the Red charger free to act as a mains relay box in case you need it (like when a runner unplugs the charger to plug in a kettle and leaves it unplugged without telling anyone - don't laugh, this actually happened on the last short film shoot I did)...

The RED charger doesn't fall over. You just need to pull down and twist a support leg you will find underneath it. :wink:

Am I actually that much of a muppet??!

Not that it's really a problem (hence the exclamation mark), I've just been lying it down - but I hate it when I miss simple things like that - unless you're taking the piss of course, I'm not quite sure how to read that wink smiley!!

We also put in a beefier power supply, outputting nearly 1A more per charge bay, so it will charge faster, MSRP on this product is $1299.00. Don't beat yourself up too much, Dominic. I had my RED for about 3 months before someone finally clued me in on that little gem.
