  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RELEASED: BETA RED ONE FIRMWARE (v3.4.1)

Great job on the 1:1 magnify. How do you view the Battery Cycle Count information?

Epic has some really big RED ONE shoes to fill. the mind boggles at where all this will go next and the great thing is it won't be starting at ground zero and all the work flow should be in place for scarlet and epic already

"1:1 magnify" is the hottest feature. No more soft focus.

Thanks RED team

The 1:1 feature is amazing. I can't believe I lived without it. Also the user box is VERY well done. Congrats guys!

Holy crap!! 1:1 is so awesome!!!

edit: I just tried to do a black balance without formatting the cf card and the camera said:

CALIBRATION FAILED
Not quite sure what you should do.

Pretty hilarious.

Press the UNDO button and the Joystick.

I'm not getting anything while pressing both these buttons. I noticed no information was in the new manual about this feature either.

Worked for me.

Power the camera up. Then press UNDO and Joystick at same time.

You should see something like this -

PIN ABC-123-XYZ
VER v3.4.1. B17
HRS 204 CYC 20

If you are on D.C power CYC will report 0.

Be sure to be looking at the rear screen.

With the 1:1 magnification, setting accurate depth on the lens mount is far easier.

Are there any plans in the works to have a camera usage/hours display, like the battery cycle count?

It'd be nice to see how much usage the old girl has really got on her.

Feature request:

That the spelling mistakes are removed from the formatting status displays. Unless build 17 the the build that no longer tells me my "magzine" is ready for use?

How do we identify cameras with the new CF modules? We don't know the ship date or service history for rented bodies.

If you remove the CF MODULE side panel and the version number of the CF reader/writer has a label on it stating rev 2.1 or higher, it is 16 GB CF CARD compatible.
