Shoot Location: All over NZ
Prod. Co.:Domain Productions LTD
Director: Mike Hodgson
Director of Photography: Evin Grant
Red Tech: Scott Webster (Rocketeer)
Camera: Red One #409 (Rocket Rentals, Auckland NZ)
Lens: 6mm Nikkor Fisheye with the Grant/Obscura system.

I haven't been able to show you guys much about the first two dome projects I shot in Dubai but this one is much more public so I thought you might enjoy some of the behind the scene stills and if you're near Potters Fields Park near London’s Tower Bridge from November 25 to December 2 2008, (coinciding with the All Blacks Grand Slam Tour and match against England on November 29) you can see the first ever public screening of 220ºx360º surround view dome photography shot on the widest lens ever made and the Red One using the Grant/Obscura system.

First a little history...
Giant Rugby Ball Scores Another Famous Landmark

This surround view system was co-developed by myself and Obscura Digital in San francisco and is currently the only full 220ºx360º, digital, single camera dome cinematography system in the world. I can't give any more details than that but I would like to send a special thanks to Doug Underdahl at Long Valley Film Equipment for coming through with a crucial custom part practically overnight.

You can see some of the first two dome projects at Obscura Digital at bottom left Click "Work" then right to "Domes".

OK now for the fun stuff...

Wine, cheese and a 6mil Nikkor please?

That Nikkor is some piece of glass. Was the bungee jump shot taken with that?

Beautiful Evin ! New Zealand looks great !

You used 6mm all the time?

Wow, I wonder what a budget for producing a "dome" video would be?
I forwarded this info to a client that keeps talking of doing something
beyond the normal.

Yes, all the videos I saw looked like megabuck affairs.
If I ever get a client to that point - you will be the first one I call!!
