  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Birger Lens Mount Reservations

There are some major steps in the process:

1. Control a lens.
2. Control any lens.
3. Dynamically control a lens.
4. Dynamically control any lens.

We have a working solution.

since the mount is appearing on the horizon I am now about to place orders for lenses... First question, is sigma hsm lenses supported?
is tokina supported? (canon mount off course).

I am especially keen on the two sigma primes 30mm 1.4 and 50mm 1.4

Any updates on this will be much appreciated

Coincidently, I have Norwegian heritage. My last name is sinclair, taken from the French town in Normandy, St Clair By Rollo the viking some few hundred years ago. I think he was about to take Paris so the french gave them Normady. The deal with the pope was they had to convert to christianity and take christian names, hence they took the name of the local town. A lot of them went to Scottland, therafterwards. Can't wait to go back home one day, 500 years on... lol

dude.. what ARE we supposed to say man!

Akube, I find your comments enjoyable and amusing, but as well they hit the point.

I've been shooting out on the field for couple weeks. It's good medicin for the symptoms created by the Birger thread. Still, while filming bears and wolves every other five minutes thought, if only had the Birger mount, remote control, and knob all this were far smoother. Focusing and setting aperature of long lenses without shaking the camera is close to art -especially so, when shooting in a hide lying on a swamp.

But, I think there has been progress during the last two weeks.

As many other Scandinavians, I've also wondered what's the background behind the name Birger. Nice to hear the story.

Birger only officially supports Canon lenses. Canon EF fit Sigmas and Tokinas may well work, but are not guaranteed because their firmware is a reverse engineered and modified to avoid copyright infringement version of Canon's.

The only way to tell is if someone tries those specific lenses on the mount. Birger is likely too busy just supporting Canon lenses to do this for you!

...why the exclamation mark?
"too busy...well maybe he should "get busy"
The sigmas and tokinas would, if they work, add value to his product. This tranlates in to higher sales, which means he can hire more people, which again would allow him to not be so busy all the time...

Akube, you're cracking me up here.. ahahaha.

I think I would rather be thrown off a cliff than be sentenced to a life of eating only cucumbers.

BTW, who in the LA area has one of these mounts on order?

red hq is not birgertown.
birgertown is in boston ma and the face of it is this thread. well atleast the birger canon ef mount. :p

im craving for pancakes, 2 sunny side up eggs, hashbrowns, sausages, and french toast and of course some asparagus and potatoes on the side. warm maple syrup with butter on top of my pancakes. i'll have a banana&honey milkshake.

and i wont do aaaaany work for the rest of the day as i will be busy trying to digest that.

to me this, is birgertown.. and we are its owls.

kwooooook, ppprrrkwoooook.

lols.

I believe jarred is still waiting on erik to finish the documentation. The last we heard from Jarred was that after documentation came from birger then they could start the approval, so I believe we should be looking to erik...

and in my opinion, akube is turning out to be the funniest person in birger town.

well, should you have a short, feature, you could submit it to the middle east international film fest.. www.meiff.com

i am definately craving for some pancakes.. :p hahaha.

and if any of you do get selected, the breakfast is on me and we'll have it at "the mugg."
