Birger Lens Mount Reservations

Sheesh! Could we have any more Norwegians on this board?
(I can say that...immigration officials mis-spelled my grandfather's last name - "sen" to "son" so, everyone thinks I'm Swedish - not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Some day, I'd like to visit the land of glaciers and fjords.:cold:

mount just showed up... waiting for some documentation, then the testing will begin.

almost there....

Norwegian ancestry here. My family comes from Fjaerland and Andalsnes.

Glad to hear the mount is in testing.

At Epcot/DisneyWorld, the Norwegian women always win the best looking contests.

Yeah, they win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!

Kidding! Kidding!

Åndalsnes is a beautiful sight, if you can find some relatives there I suggest you pay them a visit.
Took this picture there last spring...

I've got a box of Harry & David chocolates, with your name on them, Jarred...

They should have shot "Lord of the Rings," there.

I am from Norway, a couple of generations removed. My given name is Erik Birger Widding. My father and his father were both Frederick Birger. . . .

. . .

For ten years Birger has been my child. I have been owned by him at times, but in all no regrets. I am getting married this fall, and I will eventually have to come up with another name.

Do I interpret the bold portions to mean that Norwegian males change their last names after they marry (to a name both husband and wife agree to adopt)? If so, I think that is terrific. It's essentially what I've advocated (in friendly debates among family) should be the custom here instead of the once-absolute and still-overwhelming custom that women take the last names of their husbands. A new name adopted jointly seems the best way to truly honor the notion of a husband and wife "becoming one" and achieving a unique identity through union.

Back to regularly scheduled mount talk.

People for Eating Tasty Animals?

haha... no it sais.. People for the ethical treatment of animals..(with a funny looking "e" .. lols) they were like we are going to make sure you get to stay in bars when you come down.. they mentioned something about animal abuse and i laughed really hard...

veggie eating fags.

i honestly think vegetarians are hypocrites.

I don't get it.. they eat lettuce for the rest of their life. that sounds more like a religion to me.. a very weird and twisted one. its like the guy who invented vegetarianism, one day woke up and said; i shall summon thee who hath fallen and sineth to eternal lettuce and mini tomatoes and cucumber with a twist of olive oil.

daaarn... imagine eating that eveeery freggin day. gives me the hibadabajeebies...

I think we're a bit off topic here.

Stephen

oh well.. we'll get back to topic for your sake stephen.

Well, well, BS aside this is the ultimate extract of every post on this thread:

birger, are we there yet?

so as long as ure saying that, ure on topic. lols.

dude.. what ARE we supposed to say man!
