Stay tuned...

Edit: Footage!

you gotta have a strong neck for that I bet....

Jesus, Brook, don't break your neck with that thing.

that said i cant wait to see it ;)

seriously. your neck is going to snap like a twig when you pull your shoot :)

Very Cool stuff, but you weren't the first.....

It is a great camera for skydiving though isn't it? How did OB like it?

Dude that is insane!!!!!!!!! Honestly... I am very curious as to how you will protect your neck. That is a serious impact.

WOW! And who is taking the jump with that? A rhino? 4K Skydiving surely ought to be one hell of an eyecandy!

Greg Gasson (camera flyer pictured) wears a nascar neck collar to prevent neck injury. However, its mostly a precaution. When wearing heavy camera gear while skydiving, you have to actually fly your body and the camera as your parachute opens so that the G forces involved are taken straight down your spine, which is aligned straight up and down, instead of just letting your neck whip back and fourth. Greg usually jumps an Arri 235 or an SLCine camera for jobs so he's used to heavier cameras. Jumping that much weight on your head is not something you just jump into though. There are a hand full of very talented world champion skydivers who do it for films and television. Guys such as Greg, Craig OB, Joe Jennings, Norm Kent, and a few others. But skydiving with film cameras etc. isn't a really popular thing because its not something that comes up that often.

If anyone here local to LA wants to go jump, I'd encourage you to do it, its something you'll never forget. The closest DZ for LA people is Perris Valley Skydiving or Skydive Elsinore.

We shot our stuff at 50 fps, and I shot some landings at 100 fps and it looks unreal. Jaw dropping.... I can't wait to shoot some more stuff with it.

I'm sure it looks good....SO SHARE IT, PLZ!! I'm too coward to take the jump and too poor to get a Red One!

Wouldn't it be more stable to put the camera onto a shoulder mount?
