  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB party plan

I'm cool with a cover charge if we decide to have a more private party than meeting at a public bar. 40 of us at $20 would cover the cost of the suite at the Venetian. Or 80 at $10...

Or a bar is cool. As long as we can hear each other.
 
I'd go in on the suite. They really soak you during NAB week though huh. Nonetheless, it would be cool to have our own room so we could really chat it up. If we did the suite idea, maybe we do a pay bar, with a round of appetizers or something.

Either way, I'm up for anything as long as we can compare notes about our experiences with the camera and have a really good time partying too.
 
What about something like this. From 5-7pm I host a post production workflow think tank. Then we have an after party from 7 until whenever. If people are cool with a cover charge, that would certainly help with the cost of the room.
 
Jarred can you shed some light on party at Venetian ( or other hotel)
do you have to inform the hotel a group ( 40-80) will be dropping by ?
can you have a bar or do you have to go thru hotel for bar ?
do they require insurance, deposit etc ?
would they allow a "door" charge - or perhaps a donation ?
i vote all Red employee gets in & the goods for free and i'll put $$ on that vote.

Jarred any fine details that you've learned from last year you can pass on ?
 
Ill pay to get it. I like the workflow meeting, and then the party after. Or film something before the workflow meeting, demonstrate the workflow, and then the party. How many people are we expecting?

Donatello, I'll let Jarred give you the nitty-gritty. But I was there and I think it was simply a personal suite rented from the Venetian, we all packed in, it was great. The bar was just set on the counter, in the bathtub, etc.

I think it's as simple as renting one of the Penthouse suites and then having the party.
 
I'm in for making sure that bar has some good booze. Can pitch on the room as well. I have stayed at both and the Venetian is newer and nicer than the MGM but it probably doesn't matter for this deal. A Penthouse is a Penthouse. Any Bunnies coming? :)/
 
Jarred, what do you think? I can book a room this week, check to see if there are any limitations, and then once the room is booked we can start to sort out the details.

So, we'll have a room 1500 square ft or so, some drinks, some appetizers, the post workflow meeting to kick it all off. Does this sound good to everyone?
 
hold on, anyone thinking of generously booking a room needs to talk to Jarred first, I know of at least one person on the verge of doing this, I'd hate to see three rooms booked for this.

I have an Idea, instead of chasing rooms all over town, how about we do a Party tent.

Steve you can do your demo, Jarred can bring the beer, we may be able to do a catered RED BBQ dinner. Everybody who wants to eat pays in advance. That way the Caterer picks up the cost of the party tend.

This way we control the environment, and we do not chase are tales.

Ketch knows food and he knows that town. Whatever we chose the place has to be decided by march 25.

Ummmm not sure about you but Chasing tail is the first thing and the last thing i'm doing out there. I just hope it doesn't end up being my own.
