Hey everyone,

Thinking of picking up a pelican case for my gear for travel. Did you get the foam or the TrekPak divider system? I feel like the foam is more secure as you cut it out to the shape you want, but then your stuck with that shape unless you change it out.

what did you guys go with?

You may consider a camera bag (Nylon) from Sachtler or a comparable brand. The are much lighter and smaller than a pelican case and you can carry it with you in the cabin. I don't want my camera and monitor being tossed around like a brick.

I have a camera back now made by Dakine its pretty old, I do like the backpack style i just haven't found one that keeps everything secure inside and is big enough.

I've done mine with Foam studio. Their foam is first class. And you can have them cut out in laser following your drawing.
They have a drawing tool on their site wich works like a charm.

Travelling around the world with only 1 pelicase in cabin.

Impressive setup! I love that you can store the Monstro partially built, with Teradek, kippertie mount, and baseplate attached—must be very quick to start shooting.

(That said, would you travel with all those cables connected? Or just once you get to set? I’d be concerned about damaging an SDI/lemo port in the event of an impact…)
