Just wondering if there’s an HDR P3 D65 PQ 1000nits viewing LUT available for working with any of the affordable third party onboard monitors for viewing HDR on set. I currently use PQ mode on the Ninja V with an a7s III but plan on switching over to the Komodo.

If RED cameras are new to you what I can say is you're in for a treat when it comes to monitoring output. There are settings to enable SDR and HDR Output via SDI already built in via the IPP2 Workflow.

Easier to digest when things are in front of you with the menu options, but it's quick to understand.

So what you’re saying is that I don’t need a LUT?

I downloaded your Komodo sample footage and some other clips, threw them on the timeline of Resolve, and even without using the RAW controls or Resolve’s own controls - straight out of camera! - the footage looked just incredible in HDR. The grain is also stunningly film-like. Skin tones not at all like my Sony. There are authorized rental houses here in Saigon, but no dealers, so I’m still looking. Cost here with VAT is almost $8,000. gulp!

Can't help much with overseas vendors, but Filmtools might have one, they posted last week actually. Aim for smaller dealers like Voice and Video or Maxx Digital. B&H is of course worth checking.

Yes, there are Monitoring Settings that exist in the camera to monitor output to whatever you'd like as well as incorporating a LUT or not.

Glad that clip helped out!
