Traveling with Atlas Lenes (carry on case?)

I hope this is the right area for this topic. I am about to purchase an Atlas Orion B set and would like to know what you guys do when you travel with them, I was looking on a Jason case however its not carry on capable. If he was to make a carry on capable version it would only allow 1/2 inch of foam to protect the 80mm lens and Jason does not recommend it. The other lenses will be fine .I'm very apprehensive about checking it because I see how baggage handlers treat luggage even when it has a big FRAGILE label. What do you guys do for you Atlas lenses?
