  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

IBC - GPU Build REDCINE-X Beta 21

I'm so looking forward to when this is spread out to the SDKs as well. Do the software have to release a new version of the program for the SDK to take affect? I would think so.
I'm just transcoding one clip in FCPX. And ugg, one hour and its still not finished.

6 Gigs of video ram is always better than 3. I also went to Microcenter a few days ago. Apparently there is a new version of the Titan coming out which is supposed to be faster than the previous. It is to go against some AMD card coming out. Maybe October from what I was told.

Sorry if l missed this, but does this new version work FCPX!

I've just installed and it gives me following error:
"Video card Initialisation Failed: Unknown Hardware Vendor-compability is unknown. "Vendor Apple Computer Inc""
"Video card Initialisation Failed: Switching to Simple Rendering. Video card did not meet requirements. Advanced display features have been disabled."

i have macpro2010 with
GeForce GT120 (GUI) and Quadro 4000 for GPU.

any help?

Output at 8bit or 10bit makes no difference and the framerate is correct .No problem with premiere or Scratch. I cannot get sdi signal only with Redcine X. Which is your configuration?

i7930 over clocked to 3.5Ghz / GTX285 / 12 gigs of ram / old Kona 3 SDI out to Kona HDP to DVI-D converter.

That is interesting, i was not expecting a new Titan this year.
6GB are better, true, especially if you're doing some other stuff on your machine too (like CG with GPU-rendering), but from what you can read here in this thread, RCX doesn't seem to really need that much memory (well, 6k-footage needs to be tested).

Wow! I'm getting almost real time (stutter-ish) playback of 4.5K Full debayer with a nVidia GTX 680. I was always getting real-time half debayer before this build with the same system specs. I can't wait to add a Titan....and if multiple GPU support comes in October, I have no excuse not to finish editing my expensive home movies :)

I've recently installed a GTX780 from MacVidCards. The Beta repeatedly crashes if I try to assign this card. Anyone else have it working? Matt and I are trying to troubleshoot it now.

What are people noticing for speed increases? Where you could once get smoothing 1/4th, you now get 1/2th? 1/2th now at Full?

I get similar error messages on my Hackintosh using OSX Lion, but no errors when I boot into Mountain Lion on the same machine.
(Beta 21 does not crash, but apparently my GTX285 is not supported.)

That is awesome!

I'm installing now to do some tests.

Wow, new RCX is way faster. My laptop that is a 1.5 years old that use to playback real time in 1/8 resolution, does 1/2 resolution with no problem. This is awesome!!!!!

Thank you RED Team!

I'm happy. Went from 1/8th smooth playback to 1/4th on an 8 Core Mac Pro with GTX680. If I wait for the buffer I can get 1/2th.

:)

Thanks RED team!

Ppro has some GPU CUDA support already, it's Resolve that needs the GPU Debayer desperately.

This is welcome news, now can't wait for Adobe to integrate this into Premiere Pro and Black Magic to get into Resolve.

PPro does not have GPU CUDA debayer yet....
only scaling and some effects

they need the SDK from red before they can implement it
