  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

IBC - GPU Build REDCINE-X Beta 21

Little test with my notebook Clevo win 7, 32 G RAM, GTX 780 and intel HD4600 + BM USB 3 intensity HDSDI monitoring.

I have the image on the 27 inches dispaly Apple and on the HDSDI output from the Black Magic
Whith 4K HD clip, the image quality is perfectly sharp on my Pana 52" through HDSDI at 1/2 res but a little bit jerky. If I prefer to have a little bit of blur and a perfect framerate, i have to choose 1/4 res.

Thank you !!!!!

Runs awesome on my MBPR. Getting realtime at 1/2 debayer. It feels like it would even do Full Debayer if my drive was fast enough. Booted up on the tower, had a look at the System Pref's. I changed the Graphics card in the drop down from Quadro 4000 to GTX780 and it crashed on restart. Now continues to crash on launch. Damn. Photoshop also doesn't like my new GTX 780. Hmm....

This has probably been asked before, but I wonder if Adobe will incorporate this into premiere soon!

wow, 4k full debayer is so smooth on rcx now. I get little stutter thoe when I turn on the black magic output. If I settle on 1/2 its smooth and looks good on a 1080p display. Im happy. Wonder what fun a titan would make (using a gtx 690). Or perhaps the cuda support later on. Thanks! hoping we se this speed boost in premiere and others soon.

Nice work with this update guys - seriously excited for what this means for general acceptance and usability of R3D files in the industry.

I wonder if it's more than a coincidence that Dragon Color Science and finalized GPU support might be dropping around the same time. Seems like a smart move if the new SDK which supports the new color science might also be coupled with GPU acceleration...

Barely taxing a Titan on Win7 for full 4K in real time!! Thanks RED!!!

I've got a 2nd Titan, and hopefully that will be sufficient for the new Dragon when I get one (almost a certainly now due to this GPU addition, at least when it becomes part of the API accessible to 3rd party programs like Fusion).

One dumb question, as I record from the Scarlet's pre-amps with a RODE boom, the audio level is always very low. Is there a quick way when previewing R3Ds to pump up the volume about 10db?

I'd love to see a checkbox next to a text box (or drop down combo) where could quickly enter the db of boost to apply when previewing R3Ds.

This is amazing. I'm getting real time 1/2 debayer of 5k in RCX and near real time with full debayer with ONLY A GTX680.

(granted I also have 16 cores@2.6Ghz, but I have struggled mightily with full debayer in EVERY application)

As soon as this gets into the SDK and into Resolve, Titan here I come! (perhaps dual Titan? One for R3D crunching the other for Davinci?)

Wonderful! 5k playback on player or redcine-x on 2550 display without a hiccup (Z820, 2xE5-2680, Quadro 5000, SSD)... now I have to put it on my titan/4k monitor system and see how that goes!

Edit - No joy on the Titan machine... it was set up for still images so is a low end HP desktop machine (with slow spinny platter HDD) - couldn't even keep up with 1/2 res but looked great for the second or two it could play before running out of data.

This is so AWESOME! Feels like I just bought a new computer and I haven't had to spend any money!

I'm almost getting realtime 1/2 on my rMBP. Could you please share the specs of your system?

Mine is a 2.6 i7 with 16GB of RAM.

I'm getting 5k at 12-18 fps with a Geforce Titan (overclocked) and 3930K. Is that about what I should expect?

I've set it to:

24GB,
14 frames at a time
OpenCL Enabled
Geforce Titan.

EDIT compared to:

24GB
8 frames at a time
OpenCL Disabled

~ 1.5-2 fps.

HUGE improvement.
