They only record at project framerates, and with possible timecode slipping problems. OK for some productions, maybe. They certainly don't batch-transcode off-speed shots.

I hope RED reconsidered and made the meizler in modules as follows.
1. +1 module.
2. A/V wireless transmission module.
3. Offcamera module / remote proxy and sound recording module preferably with a touchscreen. possibility to run from Volts or Vmount, or AC power and all the rest.
4. Wireless lens control module.
5. AC / Director wireless units to go with normal epic touch screens and revolts allowing changing settings for camera and or playback controls for the off camera proxy module...
The Meizler COLLECTION! :yesnod:
I would love to see a super compact clip-on (just like the REDMOTE) module purely for wireless HD monitoring. Powered by the connectors on the back of the camera, while taking the input signal from SDI / HDMI / or directly from RED LCD connector on a +1 module - basically have a detachable connecting cable with all three options, so you can adopt to any config...:

I know the above is the receiver, but the transmitter could use the same design / size (if not even more compact)...
Then use the above receiver in combination with the RED HDMI link (or without) to monitor.
Allow for multiple receivers to get signal from a single transmitter...

Looks like it would fry your hair off if you stand to close![]()

EDIT: Come to think of it - just the SDI is fine, as long as it would provide the pass-through. Make it simple.

I think this does pretty much what you are looking for...
But ofcourse I would rather see it built into a +1 wireless... simply A cooperation between terradeck and red so we could have the bolt snuggly attached to the back of the camera, sucking video from the +1 built in HDMI port or SDI port of the camera and sucking power from the module pins in the back. The solution I have here is quite clean but i know that RED would so easily make it so much better if they built it into a real module.
All it would have to be is like a tactical plate with SDI cable and power going trough to feed a bolt that sits in a little pocket inside the module. And since there is antenna stuff inside they would not eve have to make it all in aluminium, half plastic or even rubber would be perfect, just so it does not shield the wireless stuff.
when I first hooked this up I was like... but now I lost both HDMI and the SDI and then I realized that the bolt actually have a SDI out on the side... then it kind of struck me... I do not need any such thing any more, as it's all wireless... So it takes a moment to get used to it. No cable feels pretty odd![]()
Are you sure this is a receiver?
It looks like a transmitter to me. Why would receiver have lemo connectors on it?
There are no Lemos on monitors..
