K5600 HMI GROUP BUY

Bob, I guess you're right. Though not really. I did not post prices, only the approximate discount amount because it went against something Jay said in an earlier post. I am only trying to save time for others.

Anyways, I did delete it and will PM Jay directly.

I totally understand Kevin, but as someone who had been through a group buy, I would always error on the side of caution when dealing with the manufacturer. No point in jeopardizing the whole effort.

Wow I'm not used to such professionalism and civil discourse on REDuser..It must be me.. I must attract all the good ones.

Kevin I'm with Bob.. best to be careful, but that said, I don't think you were off base.

I cannot go into TOO much detail except to say the following:

K5600 is one of the "Standards" in our industry. They build their products to last a lifetime, and despite so much competition that strives to low-ball price these guys are trying to maintain quality.

For those of you who have been wanting to move into K5600 lighting, then you will never find a better time, cause I've gotten the best prices possible. Once they are gone, you are not going to see them show up in a "sale" 3 weeks later. At least that's what I'm told.

Ryan and I had to go through some "uncomfortable" conversations to get things where they are. He deserves a lot of credit for being forward thinking, and embracing this new way of doing business. Kevin was commenting that the discounts I got were a little off the level I tend to shoot for. This is true but the other side of the coin is that the prices we received have not existed before.

Are there cheaper prices? Well sure, if you're a long term customer of K5600 and purchase a half a million in stock each year. But we're basically a small group of people who have banded together to do this deal. Ryan and the people over there do not have a "promise" of how much we will buy, only an "intent". Believe me guys, this is a very tricky thing to navigate. My job is to push as hard as I can for the best number, then present it to you and either the discount is enough to make you jump, or it's not.

Like I said, if you know this lighting, and you've been wanting to get into it, then this is the best possible time. If you already have this lighting, and want to expand your stock, then it's a no brainer. If you are on the fence, and it already feels expensive, you will have to decide if this deal is right for you. If not, then there's another group buy you can get into that is in you price range.. The lights and their quality are not comparable, but at least you can get into something.

As for me, I have been a fan of K5600 for a VERY long time. I would kill for a set, which is why this group buy exists..

I'm really having to edit a lot of what I say.. A conversation like this might have been better on my site.. But I wanted everyone to read it. I hope I've explained myself fairly well.

Thanks for organizing this, Jay. I emailed the rep and look forward to getting some new lights.

Guys nick is asking about some differences of joker bugs vs some LEDs he is looking at. It's in the accessories thread. If you have any useful info to share please post it on his thread, I'd like to read it too.

Didn't want to make anyone michugaas, but the idea was to relate more to this thread's "level" of illumination...

Please refer all responses to the other thread.

Thank you very much

There is an amazing amount of activity on this group buy. Very cool, but it's extremely important that if you make an order, post it here. If our total billing passes a certain point, then there's a very good chance that more items, such as the softtube may also be added to the group buy.

I.E. if we buy a total of 12 800w jokers, then my guess is that things will change a little..

So PLEASE post what you order.

I've made the process of finding pricing a little easier:
go to www.infotechGTS.com
If you are a member, log in at top right.
If not, then cliick on log in / register at top right.
Select Free Plan
Fill in information.
Then log into the site. Click on Jay's Blog, and then GROUP BUYS.

Everything you need will be there.

Jay

Some of you have asked about the site. To be ethical here, I am not going to talk about infotecGTS since it's only purpose at this time is to offer a confidential (somewhat) place for the pricing, and more sensitive conversations should you think you need to have one.. So far no one has.

I think one thing that will impress K5600 is that up to now, NO ONE has posted those prices. Shows them the kind of people they are dealing with . Good on all of you!

Chirp, chirp. Thanks for doing this. Any word on a 1600 kit deal?

D.

We are at only the 200, 400, and 800 until we reach the goal number. Right now we're looking good. Orders are picking up and I have an incredible number of people signed up to the infotechGTS site. So there is a lot of interest. I think we're gonna do great.
