  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

K5600 HMI GROUP BUY

Curious about a 800 bug , or 1600.
I had a joker 400- non bug , it was an amazing light.
And being a non bug , you could lens the light inside of a softbox.
Good gear

I've never been clear about this, the "bug" type of light is where you can take the reflector off and have a "bare bulb" for softboxes, tube lights etc, right?

In which case, my Joker 400 is the non-bug type as well. Love the hell out of it, and I definitely would like to purchase an 800. Just curious about pricing and whether I can actually afford it right now.

man i would kill for a nice, versatile "allrounder" set of HMI's something like 1x200 + 1x400 +1x800 or 2x400 and 1x800 but for such a quality light, the price is going to be out of my budget, I am afraid. . .

though still would love to know how much, maybe I could get me atleast one or 2 light ^^ The way I understand it, I think the "news" versions are the most versatile. Can be used in many different setups, like open face or fresnel like etc
am i correct? Or a better question would be, what would be the best 3 light solution for todays (and tomorrows) light-sesitive sensors to get (this implies that a 200 or 400w base light is plenty) so that you have most basic situations covered ?

Hi,

I bought several joker 400 but no 200 because of the too small difference in weight and price between the 200 and the 400. It is always easy to use a scrim or ND if you want less light but often you want more.
The differnece between the 400 and 800 and the 1600 are more important, so they are for different use.

I have pricing on the 200, 400, and 800 bug lights.. I cannot post them here since this pricing has never existed before. So let me work out how this will be done.

Pricing and Ordering

Pricing and Ordering

Ok this was a tough one.. K5600 has NEVER done anything like this before, but they really wanted to try it.. Good on them.. They are VERY worried about pricing getting out, so I cannot post it on here. Here's how to get the pricing:

Go to: www.infotechgts.com and at the TOP RIGHT of the page you will see log in / register. Click on that and just select FREE PLAN (Unless you are already a member, paid or not, then just log in.) Then fill out the registration information BE SURE TO SELECT GROUP BUYS in the GROUP section so I do not bother you about anything but GROUP BUYS! :) (It's at the bottom of the drop down list under "Class list")

Disclousure: No this is not a sales pitch, it's not to get your information. But these rates are CONFIDENTIAL and I can track who does what on the blog, which will keep it from getting out.

Should you be bothered about all this. Register, get the info you need, and then write me a private email asking me to remove ALL your information from my site, and I would be happy too.

Of course for those of you who are members, you only need log in. As I said, a paid membership is not needed to get this information.

Once you have registered, log in, and go to Jay's Blog. The 2nd icon from the left (pic of a folder) is the categories button. Click on it and select Group Buys.. You should be able to figure it out from there.

You can ask questions there, but it might be easier if all discussion were kept here. I do tend to be a little less political on my own site, but I still think keeping all discussion here is a better idea.

Also this group buy is going well.. Actually both of mine are, so being signed on might not be a bad thing, since I will most likely be doing this again. And a private, confidential site makes companies feel better.

If you have any concerns, PM me and we'll work through them.

Here's the answer about the Softtube (And other accessories) Thanks to Bob for getting this:

At this time, the Group Buy discount is only applicable to the 3 kits that were posted. That being said, as things progress and if we get to the necessary numbers to make this work, we'll contact you and see if you're still interested in the accessories. We could make a deal then. Thank you for your interest and support.

Thanks again Jay!

Could you check on the 800 Crossover kit as well? Cheers!

*** EDIT: Just saw what you posted above... Cheers.

It's not really the accessories they are looking for Bob.. It's the total gross billing.. They will need to hit a certain number for this to really become something to give them flexibility. I am not sharing that number cause I get the feeling from K5600 that it's more an internal thing and they will not leave people hanging if it's a good bit of business, but not quite what they were looking for.

Hopefully most of the people on here were really serious about making an order, and will do so. I can say this 100%:

K5600 has never offered pricing like this directly to customers, and I do not expect them to do it again any time soon. This is what I was told.

Just put the FREE PLAN in the search bar, after logged in. Couldn't get there until logging in, however.

Thank you very much

Thanks for helping out Nick.. Sorry about the cloak and dagger guys, but vendor does not want this stuff out.

Besides, if this works, I'll use the same system again in the future. Also I am privy to some cool stuff from Vendors and they look for "test people" all the time.

I have one guy in mind right now.. So who knows, you might enjoy being on my site. :)
