  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who shipped their scarlet for a EPIC-X?

Yeah, my rep has been keeping in touch, Sam Measure, is awesome. I am hoping that today my camera might be through the approval phase, and with any luck Epic, by the end of the week. I didn't have any jobs lined up when i sent it in, buts its ruddy sods law, that a job came up for this week. Don't live in an area where cameras are easily rented either, so hoping they are good with maybe utilising me next week...
 
I get a email Hump day to find out if Wally passed (which I know he will, RED said that most are passing and only a few have had issues) I hope that they start the Epic Process by Thursday/Friday.
 
My EPIC should be shipping either today or tomorrow. Paid extra for overnight shipping. So hopefully no later then weds.

correction, just got shipping notice. Tomorrow by 3pm will be a epic owner!!

I never thought I would find myself on this list so soon but my scarlet broke down and I have to send it off to RED to have it fixed and so decided why waste a trip sending this all the way to California just get fixed ? Paid for my upgrade today and waiting for details from RED to facilitate importation on my scarlet which will return as an EPIC. Need it back urgently though, loosing jobs here.
 
I received my email on Thursday May 8th, Made payment, and dropped my camera off at Red Hollywood on Friday May 9th

I have only had small back and forth between myself and my rep, but no indication if my camera passed inbound inspection nor when I will receive my Epic.

I was told 3-5 business days, and have already been without a camera for 5 business days without a solid update.

My rep just called and said I made it through the evaluation so now have to wait 3-5 for the Epic processing... I'm racing against the clock for my jobs next week but he told me he'd try to get me a loaner if nothing else so fingers crossed.
 
If there were HUNDREDS of upgrades, it would be one thing, but according to the numbers, it only seems like dozens. Thats the only thing bothering me. Everyone at Red has been really great but the speed is an issue considering I was able to bring it to Red Hollywood and not have to ship it to Irvine from out of state..

Yea, I would contact your rep and ask if they can issue a loaner. I sent my Scarlet to be repaired before I gave it to them for the epic upgrade and have had a loaner for a few weeks now that has been tiding me over until my epic is ready.

Meh, I doubt if that high a percentage of Scarlet owners bother to post on Reduser, so I would not use this thread as a guide...

Talk to Alan for anything RMA related. He should direct you into the right path.
 
Any other people hear anything from RED yet? I should get a email Wed. to find out Wally passed with flying colors. Right now I am having to use my 7D's for shoots. they are lite but not the same as shooting on RED ;(
 
Sorry to hear some of you guys taking awhile for your trades =/. Mine got in last monday, finished testing by thursday, shipped yesterday and should be here wednesday. Was really smooth and my BombRep Morgan is great. Excited to not be limited to shoot 3k/48fps :D.
 
Yeah, mine arrived at Red last Tuesday. No word yet. Presumably, I should be getting the epic by the end of this week. But who knows...
 
Anyone else have an idea of turn around time? Mine should arrive at RED today. Did I read correctly that some have gone a week with no evaluation status update? My R1 is down and having to be sent bank as well so I'm naked with only a 5d to cover me for the moment. I'm in a tricky spot.

Mine was received on the 9th and I will be getting my epic before or around 3pm today. If that helps.
 
I talked to my BS rep today and she said about there should be a 7-10 business day processing time.. which doesn't' seem that bad.
