I started a thread some weeks ago about a group buy of the Chinese Laing M02.

A lot of things happened, and the group buy for the Laing is still on (more or less), but there's also a different offer for a more professional system. Have a look at the thread, my blog or contact me via pm, if you have any questions.

I opened this thread to gather all the information, since people wrote me that it's really hard to find them in those über long threads.

Deadline is March 28th. You'll need a password to see the price and more details on my blog. Send me a pm or an email, and I'll send it to you immediately.

I do not work for ProLine, nor do I have any financial interest in them!

You can find more info on their website or their facebook page.

Here are some photos and data of the ProLine T2000 rig. And it's waaay cheaper than on their website.

Sled, arm and vest use industry standard conenctors, so it's easy to upgrade to a better vest or a different arm!

  • topstage
  • j box with LEMO / HD-SDI conenctors
  • gimbal
  • monitor and battery brackets
  • d-box with LEMO / HD-SDI conenctors

Update March 3 2013

WE DID IT

Luciano just wrote me a mail:

Yes, we have more than 40 buyers already. [...] The Facebook group idea is great. Now we have to start the production. I have some cool ideas for the special edition, but those are a surprise.

I will close the store page today and will start posting news about the production soon. Buyers can then enter [the information page] with the same password.

Estimated time frame for delivery is between 45 to maximum 60 days from today.

Are the 12V and 24V both active at the same time, or is there a switch to alter between them?

If you power on the system, there is power both on the 12V and 24V connectors. They use different connectors, so you can't plug in a 12V cable into the 24V power source. It's impossible to switch it off by mistake.

The 6pin including smart data would be great.

Looking into it.

Many want to see an HDMI port (I'm using a very thin HDMI cable for my octocopter which works great)

The HDMI cable can pass inside the post with no problem. I always work like that with DSLR cameras.

Does the arm behave at a certain weight range in an iso-elastic manner?

The arm is not iso-elastic, but the boom up and down is really smooth.

And most importantly... would it be possible for some to get a monthly installments plan? Some potential buyers can't afford to pay that much at once.

I can not do a monthly installments plan with this price. Sorry!

Also have a look at their facebook page for photos of the new top stage and the ProLine in action. I also added some to the first post.

Photos aren't showing up in the first post - might just be the PC laptop I'm using. Just thought you might want to check :)

Trying to get it together to jump on this...hope 18 others are as well ;)

Regarding docking with the Auto-Lock Docking Port:
Is the dock meant to sit inside a c-stand? What type of stands is the dock compatible with? What does the manufacturer recommend we use?

Thanks

Any standard C-Stand should be ok. I prefer one with a removable turtle base for easier transport.

Could you please clarify this, from what I see its a switch that can easily be switched on or off either intentionally or un-intentionally.
Its position under the sled so from what I can tell could easily be knocked.

If the switch does get hit, will the power stop on the 12V stream and go to the 24v stream? i.e you loose power to the camera?

Since Luciano said that it's impossible to switch off, perhaps all that switch does is change which power source the power meter screen is displaying? So, the power stays on both cables but you can switch between measuring the voltage on the 12 V supply or the 24 V supply?

I quoted your question to Luciano. But I guess that Andrew is right. Anyway will post it as soon as I get the answer.

Preparing to order soon. I was out of country for a week or so.
Thanks for the update page David, and of course, all your hard work with this group buy.
Its become far more complicated than I think anyone imagined with all the vendor choices and price points.

James.
