  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ProLine T2000 steadicam group buy - Part II

stupid question maybe; aside from usability in daylight situations, but wouldn't it make sense to run a EVF cable through the post from J to B and add those lemo's.. specially with the +1 module.. a lot of us traded in the Red one and have a couple of spare RED monitors lying around..

ProLine will probably not be at NAB, instead working on our rigs :smile:

Since we're getting pretty close (I think we're now at 36 or 37), the group buy will most definitively go through, and people want their rigs as soon as possible.

I think running a RED monitor cable through the post should be easy and a good solution. But adding the connectors to the J-box and D-box would be frigging expensive (I haven't found the LEMO type for the monitor anywhere in the RED Epic manual), but I guess that they are around 70 to 90USD. So it would probably make more sense for everyone who wants to use a RED monitor to buy an extra long RED monitor cable for 220USD, since that would require only 2 connectors. If you add the connectors to the junction boxes, you would need 6 connectors: cam -> j-box -> d-box -> monitor (or at least 4 if you have already a monitor cable). At a LEMO connector price of 70USD, that addition would add 420USD just material costs.

not to mention the labor entailed for soldering the connections. That's definitely not a DIY project.
 
I thinking i have 6 spare monitor cables.. Ouch.. so female connectors on both the J and B box should suffice?

but i understand the painpoint (-; maybe i Will ask a local metalshop to add them

You can find the correct female connector on the mouser or LEMO website. And if you find it, could you please post it here? Would be interesting for other users who want to add them.

You're right... it's probably the best to contact a local shop who are experienced with Lemo connectors to install them (you need probably special crimp tools for so many contacts).
 
will wait for the rig and then see how much room where and how.. If there is space enough, i will add them and keep you posted. planning to add a HD-SDI splitter and a mini convertor HD-SDI to HDMI and some strategically placed p-taps/USB ports as well for using it with the +1 and paralinx.
 
Ya, i'll probably add a p-tap powered HD-SDI - HDMI box at the bottom for ease of use of either HD-SDI or HDMI without having to run another cable.
 
whats the name of the ikan monitor in the proline t2000 vimeo steadicam testvideo is it 7" or 9"
 
Some members who tried to wire the money directly via paypal told me that there is a problem with ProLine's paypal account. I forwarded it to Luciano. He just sent me two mails:

yes I need to send a fax, explaining the process for the buy group, because we had so many orders and we didn't provide any tracking numbers for the shipping.

David, we sent the file explaining the situation to Paypal. We have to wait probably till tomorrow and everything is gonna be normal again. Sorry for that, but the Paypal store is new for us.

So if you have a problem ordering (maybe it's only for custom orders), it should be resolved tomorrow. In case you can't send the money, just keep the paypal reply as proof that you tried to order before the deadline is finished.
